The teams that are the powerhouses of the P5 format are like a horse getting out of the gate fast. Playing catch up will not be easy. Tons of programs with big followings, great facilities, and tons of media attention. UM and Nebraska are trying to rekindle an era that may never come back.

CORRECT!

The majority of OSU’s classes come from Ohio which is the best football recruit state in the mid-west. Meyer & Tressel both have done a fantastic job at keeping elite talent instate. It is one of the reasons for their success at OSU.

And who do you think recruited and developed Andrew Luck?

Andrew Luck is a fantastic mix of top talent and great development (nature & nurture).
Luck was a top rated QB in high school, top rated QB in college, and he has done well so far in the NFL. He has a pattern of success before and after Harbaugh. Harbaugh certainly gets some credit but he was not everything.
As for the recruiting, Luck is from Texas. Harbaugh’s top 2 QB prospects that year were Luck and Dayne Crist from California. It is much easier to recruit a Texas player to come to sunny California than to recruit him to cold weather Michigan.

Don't look now, but David Shaw isn't doing too hot these days with Harbaugh's players slowly trickling out of the program.
2011: 11-2 (8-1)
2012: 12-2 (8-1)
2013: 11-3 (7-2)
2014: 7-5 (5-4)

As for Shaw, he won his bowl game making his worst record 8-5. Not too shabby.

Stanford annihilated Maryland last night in whatever they call the bowl game out in San Francisco now. Shaw has 42 wins and 3 BCS appearances in four years. I'd say he's doing alright.

It sounds like former Bronco WR John Morton will be joining Harbaugh's staff at U-M:

John was a good friend and almost as crazy a partier as USC head coach Sarkisian. John really liked his jack back in the day.

Notice that article has 400 comments now. Wow.

Yah, I bet you could tell some stories. In fact I think you already did tell a couple in the past. Sounds like those were the days!

I think I have stories that would get them both fired... and me.
