Seeing some rumors from the Baylor side that the SEC nixed a matchup between the two schools. Haven't heard anything from the TN side. Can anyone verify this and if so why? I'd love to play Baylor to add to our rivalry in women's basketball. And please don't say it was to avoid a beat down. Not that TN is ready to compete on a national level yet but they are improving.

Ignore the baylor BS. They're just trying to get their excuses for their weak SOS next year ready.

I mean think about this: UT is willing to play OU and the SEC says nothing but they care about UT playing BU? Doesn't make much sense does it.

Just one more reason I'm glad to no longer be associated with that den of hypocrisy and delusion.

The only team the Lady Vols ever had any animosity with was UCONN. I suspect that even though she is no longer the coach, Tennessee will respect Pat Summit's wishes in that regard. But I don't believe this ducking foolishness since this year the OOC schedule consists of playing ND, Texas, Rutgers, Stanford and ORST.

Sorry to confuse... the rumor I heard was about football, not basketball. My point was that we do have some history with Baylor in basketball, so a football game isn't totally out of the blue.

No truth to SMU dropping Baylor so they could play TN. Wishful thinking on their part. We aren't giving up that home game

I apologize for the confusion on my part. I honestly hadn't heard such a rumor. Regardless, if you take a look at the Vols past and upcoming OOC games, I think they work very hard to find interesting matchups. As such this pairing would have to be beyond 2018.

edit* Maybe it was a rumor about trying to find someone to replace UAB next year?
