MAC Bowl Games
4th down / do-or-die situation... same diff... dumb play call. Unless you're somebody like Calvin Johnson or Jimmy Graham, you don't throw fade routes unless it's 1st or 2nd down.

I don't agree with it. With all that momentum of the whole 2nd half, notably the 4th quarter of course -- just go to OT. I can understand if you have a great play that one's saved that's killer that you haven't used yet, etc. Given the situation, I could see that -- where if a guy dropped an easy catch or a fumble happened -- you can't blame him.

But to just do it for the sake of "winning right Now"? Go to OT -- don't risk it on 1 play. You still have the momentum.

Extra Point kicks are not automatic in CFB.

Ask Fleck (Toledo in OT).

Dude, it wasn't 4th Down - it was 2-point conversion try.

Rush checked to Fade because WKU was blitzing-in Man coverage. They had a 6-3 WR running it. They just didn't execute.

I thought it was good decision. CMU had all the momentum, Hilltoppers are reeling. Don't give them a chance to regroup for OT. And Chips might have been out of gas after furious comeback.

If they complete the pass it was a good decision and play call. They didn't so they weren't.

I think Nick wasn't meaning 4th down literally; more in that it's a play where you don't get another chance if it fails.

This is exactly why you go for two there IMO.

I've watched the MAC Bowl games, CMU's defense didn't impress me but there aren't that many MAC teams with great defenses. Having Rush and Walker back on offense next year and WMU has a young team that will get better. And NIU and Toledo seem to always be in a running for a bowl game. Wonder how Ball St and EMU can overcome what has become one tough football division?

Mattes Walker? I think he graduates, but regardless, he's pedestrian. Rush is a nice QB when he has time. He has a lot of limitations.

UT just needs to avoid a Baylor or WKU and not get too relaxed.

Just like that, their lead goes from 42-17 to 42-31. Couple minutes left in 3Q.

Something in the water this bowl season.

Don't worry, Toledo didn't blow it and won 62-44. Toledo ran for 365 yards and 7 touchdowns tonight.
