Interestingly enough, my company had our annual Christmas party on Thursday night at the Fontainbleau on Miami Beach where the team is staying. I ran into a lot of the players and got to brag about my Alma Mater to my coworkers which was really cool.

Go Tigers!

Got to stay at the Fontainbleu a couple of years ago. Awesome place!!!

I was told that we had over 3000 Tiger fans there. Looked like we outnumbered BYU, to my surprise & relief.

Even the Salt Lake UT paper said Memphis fans outnumbers BYU fans 2 to 1.....didn't give numbers but said BYU sold approx 3K tickets.

A little late, but if you're still interested below are a few examples:

- Arroz con Pollo - Rice with Chicken. A Cuban staple.
- Picadillo - Ground beef in a tomato sauce.
- Ropa vieja - shredded beef, also in a tomato sauce
- Cuban Sandwich - ham, pork, cheese, mustard and pickles on toasted bread

Most dishes are served with rice, beans, and some sort of plantain.

Lastly, the coffee is great and resembles Italian/European coffees, but sweeter. There are varieties with and without milk.

Most Cubans hate spicy food. And Mexican food is completely different from Cuban food. It wasn't until I moved to Miami until I truly began to appreciate the diversity of various Latin cuisines.

According to someone I talked to from the AOB, we sold around 3,000 tix. At the game, I talked to a BYU fan and he said they sold between 250 to 350 tix. Not only did our team put on a great show but kudos to our band, pom and cheerleaders for doing a great job. BYU's band was embarrassing, looked more like a pep band. Also a great showing, considering it's a long way from home and the game being played 3 days before Christmas, to Tiger nation for representing the way we did. GO TIGERS!!!!

I was there and was pleasantly surprised at the number of Tiger fans in attendance. I would guess somewhere close to 4,000 at the game. If we get sent there next year, I will go back...Miami Beach is awesome.

the interview with the miami bowl poohba in the miami herald this morning said 21k announced and he fessed up to about half that number in the stands. he wasnt worried about going forward but was very frank about next year being AAC vs CUSA and he would not take FAU or FIU. selling hotel rooms is more important than attendance he said. i was STUNNED with how many memphis folks were there. great turnout on short and inconvenient notice.

crowd noise was weird sounding on tv the little bit i've watched. maybe because everyone was sitting under a deck/roof. crowd mics were just odd.

great baseball park, ok for a once a year football game. the surrounding neighborhood makes orange mound look like chickasaw gardens
