Your numbers improved...but to say you fixed an offense that still couldn't run the football, and ultimately got a lot of their passing yards because they were behind all the time? That's a stretch.
Look at our first half numbers vs the second half. We were running the ball just fine in the first half of the season until we lost 3 RBs and two OTs. As for, got a lot of passing yards because they were behind all the time. Good grief, does everything around here have to turn into an anti GSU pissing match. Just absolutely ridiculous. You're either holiday trolling or didnt see many of our games.

Trolling? No.

I am looking at your numbers and basing it off the 4 Georgia State games I watched. (ABCU, stAte, USA, App)

What I saw was an okay offense combined with a terrible defense. You guys still averaged over 8 points fewer per game than any of the top teams did. That's a problem because you're not going to win in this league averaging just 22 points per game.

we all just need to go ahead and realize that ga state just signed the greatest JUCO's in the country, and the rest of the signing class were all conceived by sperm that was genetically mixed between Jesus and Chuck Norris.
Who said that? Who even said anything approximating that? Just freakin amazing. We now return you to your Louisiana/GS no I am , no I am threads already in progress..

I believe the thread already in progress was started with you trying to 1 up app state. There was no gs v ul banter here. Nice try though.

There was no one upping. Someone described 290 lbs as big and I pointed out that in I-A football yeah not so much.

Alabama has OL ranging from as low as 290 to as high as 325.

3-310 is about the norm. That 340lb guy you picked up may be big, but I'd be willing to bet he is slow as hell, and doesn't have great technique. 290 is just fine for most of D-1 when it comes to weight if you have strength, footwork, and technique. Something your entire team lacked this year.

don't care how you try and put a spin on it, 6'8 290 is huge by any standards, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, whoever, if this kid can play, good freckling luck getting around him, happy to have him wearing a mountaineer uniform!!

6'8 is a giant even in 2014. He needs to play at the tackle spot because a 6'8 OG is actually a bad thing. If the kid can move feet like an avg tackle, doesn't have alligator arms and are close to avg, decent balance, then your recruit should be a starter with upside.

Good signing. Look forward to spotting the giant out in the upcoming years

thanks, and your absolutely right, he has to play tackle, recruiting is going well, except I believe we have only got 3 offensive linemen, got to find a few more, or we could be in real trouble next year if injuries start to pile up.

None on the 2015 recruits on the Oline will see playing time, but four 2014 Oline players were redshirted last year. We should be good on the Oline if one of those four steps up at OT.

Excited to see Jeryl Brazil and Kavara Holmes (both saw playing time in LSU's secondary as freshmen) join the Cajuns, as well as Simeon Thomas return - this gives SEC type speed in our secondary, much needed! Very exciting class we have coming in!

RE: Any big December signees?
It's always funny when a P5 school gets an OL or DL kid 285 or 290 no one seems to make a fuss about size. Let it be an FBS or FCS for that matter and all you hear is how undersized they are. Like a lot of you guys have said perception is everything and that goes for wins and loses as well as recruiting. If you look at some of those P5 rosters the players are not that must bigger and some are even smaller in some cases than G5 players.

Like a poster said get the kids on campus and in the weight room. We have several kids that came to campus like most of you as well, undersized and a few years later are the same size or bigger than some P5 kids.

typically the difference between a 310 lb guy that gets an Alabama offer, and a 340 lb guy that gets a Ga State offer, the 310 lb guy from Alabama moves as if he weighed 275 with good hands and technique, and the 340 lb guy moves....well.... like somebody who weighs 340 lbs.

Exactly, the hips and feet are the difference.

Yep.... this is why I find it funny when folks fawn over someone simply because of their height/weight.

I don't remember ever having that many 3 star commitments.

We needed a good kicker and Stevie Artigue from Lafayette High should be good

We started two freshmen at safety for the NO Bowl. Corey Trim played very well for us the last two years, but we have some youth with experience coming back which should help into next year. The ones that will be tough to replace is Ringo and Hamilton, who were both terrific this year. That's a load to replace. The one good thing is we typically substitute a bunch during games so hopefully we built up a little experience in our second group this year.
