Past net has shown signs of maturing with getting a rotation straighten out. He has awaken Pookie Powell and Trashon Burrell.

Here's how it works. JP has scheduled enough wins with the sorry schedule we see year after year so that his teams will win more games than they lose - and with some luck get his team a tourney bid (maybe not this yr, may be just NIT). That is good enough to keep his job through at least the 2015-16 season. If the Lawsons provide the lift expected, JP will be here for several more years beyond 2015-16. That's how those that pay his salary see it - the only thing that could change it is if people don't buy season tickets - and as a Tiger fan are you going to encourage folks not to support the team & the university? And Bowen will insist that the OOC home schedule is improved before he will fire JP. But if the home OOC schedule is improved to increase attendance, then JP may be exposed such that he can't win enough to keep his job. That's how it will progress.

UCONN is 4-4. Their best win is Dayton.

You mean something we've never won and the defending national champs? Oh! Got it.

Five years. Four if you don't count the first, which he did.

RE: Tigernation on BB Coach!!!
I've never been a big pastner basher but I do call it like I see it...he "will never win big here" IMO for reasons already stated in countless threads...Lawson's or no Lawson's we're just killing time...we'll have pretty much the same team plus the Lawson's and what positions do they play? That's the problem for next year but hey let's give time for pookie and others to grow so we can lose in the first or second rd in the tourney for the next couple of years...sometimes I often wonder if it's him,the players he's getting or both...I've concluded that the only way pastner will get us past the first weekend is if we have 5 Kevin durant's lol.

The Lawson's aren't that great, good but not good enough to hide his Coaching abilities.. Skal could have hid them more so than them.. And yea Pastner has it easy this year with our OOC schedule and the AAC being one of the worst Conferences in BB this year.. I still think this year could spell his demise..

We'll find out but you're prob right...I love his passion and kindness as a basketball ball coach and person and he lives and breaths it but that alone will not make u a great coach...the other part he doesn't have in respect from his players over the years and the ability to motivate players...talented players that go to battle, lay it all in the line and believe in unity is what makes great teams.
