It is also worth pointing out that traditions, a very important part of collegiate perceptions, increase in value with time.

As you say, we have no way of knowing. What we DO know is that they chose blue & gray for the same reason Georgetown did: to represent reunification of the North & South. We also know that Federal uniforms were mostly a very dark blue. We also know that over the last 100 years, UofM uniforms have varied with dark blue worn as much, if not more than lighter shades. And that in the early 80's, reflex blue (close to PMS 280) was chosen (in a spirit of compromise) as the official shade and that about 15 years ago PMS 280 blue was recommended and adopted for the brand standard. And that John Calipari did not like PMS 280. And that Bob Winn caused a great deal of confusion by stating that our official colors are "Royal Blue (PMS 280) and Black" (with gray relegated to "alternate") in the CLC spec sheet. And that Nike's version of "Royal Blue" is a VERY light shade.

Those who (1) recognize the value of tradition and (2) understand the importance of color consistency to brand strength.

1. Wrong. I value tradition. I don't care what shade of blue we wear.
2. Those people consist of you and the mouse in your pocket.

Okay, beside YOU who cares?

GA, you continue to beat a dead damn horse, and have significantly contributed to derailing this entire thread.

Please. DROP IT. Noone on this board can/will make a change in the color scheme.
