34 free throws for Duke, 11 for UConn, and that's all a product of Okafor. You have no chance of guarding him in a tightly called game. Breathe on him, and you're done.

I'm convinced that the refs in this game were under the impression that Duke were the defending National champs.
Note: I'm very aware the refs had no hand in UCONN losing, but they were REALLY biased against the champs tonight!!!

Roger Ayers was one of the officials in both this game and the ECU/UNC game. ECU's starting PG Antonio Robinson had 3 fouls called on him in a 4 minute span and was forced to sit, 9 minutes into the game. The score at that time was 16-12 UNC, The Heels finished the half on a 32-17 run. ECU was hanging with UNC until that 3rd foul, not saying that changed the outcome of the game, but we wouldn't have lost by 44.

...slow down there. Men's BB hasn't played anyone that good yet. Conroy should be fired if he can't get to 8-1 on THIS schedule.

A referee analyst was on Boomer Esiasons ESPN show on Fri. Morning and he specifically called Ayers out because in a game of 34 free throws for Duke, he did not blow his whistle once for a foul against them. Not once. Not even a non-shooting or non-bonus foul. He said Uconn didn't have a chance when they walked in that door.
NCAA referees go to where the money is, and that's the conferences who pay best. NCAA games are tilted toward the money teams.
