Our coach is following a similar philosophy. Coaches are not required to be in office until 8:30 am so they can take their kids to school each morning, and they are expected to be home in time for Dinner each night when they are not on the road recruiting. If a Kid has a ballgame or school activity, the coach is always allowed off to attend, and is generally expected to attend. Staff preaches this one family thing, so if the DL Coach's kids have a school play, several coaches end up attending instead of just the immediate family

Also Vacation time is mandatory. When coaches are on vacation in February and July they are not allowed to be in office whatsoever.

Its a very unusual philosophy, but Anderson got his first choice hires on every single assistant because of it.

More coaches - and in the regular work environment - need to do this. EXPECTING 12+ hr days is not smart.
