Of course La Tech is the crown jewel of CUSA right? The decision to add a team will come down to who is the best add for the collective members. If that is us then it's us, but the other 12 members will not care if it hurts La Tech if the CUSA brand continues to improve.

If it is Texas St, UTSA or the other Texas schools won't complain. If it is South Alabama then USM will not be happy. But that's life if you want a member added to the west.

ULL will face stiff resistance and so will others. If we decide to add it will not be one of the controversial picks that this board likes to throw around. It will be in a new market and a new state.

That is what you are hoping for isn't it. Go grab GaSt, huge market, just like you like. The last market grab resulted in one promising school ODU and UTSA. Every other successful program in CUSA is either in a medium to small market.

CUSA took bottom dwellers and large market move ups; FAU, FIU, UNT(helped them improve), ODU, UTSA and Charlotte. Again I get it, La Tech doesn't want us in CUSA with them. That is all you have to say. But when you go on and try to trash a program that has accomplished more in every sport outside of football(which is pretty even) it makes La Tech fans look foolish, petty and scared.

We had a pretty bad FB team in 2012... so I guess we were a bottom dweller when CUSA picked us?

ULL is better than Tech in every sport but FB? Really - I thought our all time record in men's BB is on Tech side even with ULL's great history in BB? I would also guess that so is women's BB. I would like to know what are all time record is baseball even though we have been pretty bad for a while. Add to that we have the better school in national rankings and it's not hard to see why CUSA picked Tech over ULL a couple of years ago.

Plus we don't have name issues.

Whoa! Easy with the collateral damage there, fella. I'm on your side! 04-cheers

10 pages of tangential bickering later, somebody offers a useful hypothesis.

I'm inclined to think if an addition will be made, it's either going to be this or Texas State coming in because the other Texas schools don't care. TV will ultimately decide, and the only thing that will move the needle there in leiu of a national brand is another 1 million+ population metropolitan presence and/or additional acreage. To a TV network, there is zero difference between CUSA staying at 13 or adding another Sun Belt call-up to its existing footprint.

I'll also echo the sentiments of those who say the best thing to do would be to have the AAC, Sun Belt, CUSA all hit the "reset" button and realign in a more sensible geographic manner. Just put everybody in a big room, suspend all exit & entry fees, and tell them to get after it.

That falls under the category of makes too much sense so it will never happen
