I'm not sure if I should be happy that anybody is worse than us.

4th place is my goal for Coach Sampson in his inaugural campaign. The league is down, which sucks. But we have to take advantage and establish our program as one of the best in the conference.

The higher the number, the better? So UCF is tops?

Thank goodness for football. It's going to be a long off-season.

I have no idea how ECU is a bottom feeder. We are not that good to even get the scraps left on the bottom.

I cringe to think how bad UNCW is going to spank us in Wilmington after their performance in Louisville. Another away game in a hostile gym..during the holidays. This happens every damn year. I suspect this was another in a long line of games that Holland scheduled. I hope Compher STOPS this nonsense.

Usf just went to the bottom feeder with ucf and ecu after losing by 5 at home to ga southern.

Supposed #226 ECU beat supposed #155 James Madison this past weekend by 12 points so I seriously question the accuracy of this rating system. I believe the Top 75 is fairly accurate. The rest is suspect and subjective at best.

I don't think I can put into words just how bad we are.

By Jan these ratings get more accurate. Although it is likely ucf, usf, and ecu will still be in the 200 range.

Not trolling, I just haven't been paying attention. What's up with Memphis. They are always the belle of the b-ball in our conference... Injuries, Graduation.

Pastner in the past has always had great recruiting and a very good squad.

The good news is there are 351 teams, so UCF is still rated higher than almost 100. The bad news is, there's room for us to drop almost 100 more places still.

That's basketball. For the same reason 175 ranked ECU teams could beat top 10 Dwade led Marquette ones, you can win this game or that and still have a far crappier season. Based on what they have done and what ECU has done and projects I'd say that is entirely pretty accurate.


I like RPI forcast. It uses Sagarin's Predictor to project wins and losses the most accurately and uses the projection with the RPI formula which matters in NCAA and NIT selection. IMO best of any other tool at this point to get a good read on rankings and it essentially says about the same.

Their coach was a coach at Louisville last year an the announcers said they didn't press much on UNCW. Pitino probably tried to take it easy on his friend and no run him out of the gym.

No usually we some crap like Mount Olive or Lee at home over the hollidays that beats us or scares us, with no students or crowd and dead atmosphere, boring D2/NAIA games. If we are going on the road to UNC Wilmington I'd rather do it with the students gone. I've been to games there when they are there and it's not an easy place to play especially with the students there.

We need a decent PG in the worst way. I mean the fact that a freshman (Powell) is playing the point at Memphis speaks for itself. I really hope that Cunningham's performance is the beginning of our hopes for something better. (Two "hopes" in there.)

I'm surprised we've only lost one game(to a preseason top 25) and have won all the other games quite convincingly. Less talent than Dickey had, and Sampson is already doing better. Can't wait till he gets 1 or 2 recruiting classes in.
