RE: Looking barely like a 3-bid league right now...
This would be a good year for Tulane to do something productive for the conference.

They currently have an SOS problem, but the only/worst loss is Wake Forest (which was game #1). Two shots remain for a key win: @Washington and vs. St. Johns. Tulane could enter serious at-large consideration IF AND ONLY IF they can split those two games (which is really unlikely) AND win about 12 AAC games.

I don't see it happening, but this would be a really good chance for Conroy to win over the city and the Tulane fan base (which wants the AD's head on a pike right now).

Palm has SMU on the bubble for a 12, and UConn in as an 11.

A couple weeks ago, Memphis was in and I believe Cincy was too.

No, you're a fan of losing your sh*t before the new year
. Its freaking December! Its NOT a problem, no matter how many times you say it is.

And who are you again, clearly you have no clue who I am. We aren't on any sort of friendly (or otherwise) terms that I'm aware of, you're just some UConn fan. Memphis sucks and it isn't going to getting any better. Do you really think talking **** to me is going to change that fact?

his team loses to Yale and somehow we are supposed to believe by March this UCONN team will make 'the run'....lol.

I will give UCONN this: they have played some good teams tough and are probably better off than UC, Memphis, and Temple, but let's not pretend this is UCONN's year.

I am saying this on 12/14/14, that the farthest I see UCONN going in the tournament is to the Sweet Sixteen. Keep in mind everything has to go right for this to happen. I don't see a national championship/final four run in this team, at all. I didn't think that at the beginning of the year, and nothing I've seen to this point changes my mind.

Memphis isn't good either
Basketball is real bad this year
You being optimistic I think Uconn will finish who knows, sad to say I think the leauge gets only one.
I just hope we do well in a bowl games.

We could win one of those games; probably won't but we could. Conroy schedules to inflate win totals, with way too much out of the SWAC and MEAC - just playing sunbelt teams could help a lot.
We still don't have enough up front to win 12 AAC games. I'll be disappointed if we don't spring a few upsets and put ourselves in NIT position. But we've had a December like this before and disappointed in Jan and Feb. Hope we hold up better this time.

Unless I don't know what I'm looking at that shows Temple in as well.

...and Temple as 13 seed. I'll take it. Everybody else, keep whining.

Looking at the league a year ago, I don't think UConn or Cincy were doing particularly well then either.

I recall Cincy was down early, and no one really thought UConn would win it all.

So, the season's far from over, and who knows how it will all play out.

UConn actually had a pretty good pre-January last year with wins against Florida, Indiana, BC, Washington, Harvard and Maryland. 2 point loss against Stanford. Only loss.

I guess I'd forgotten that and was thinking more about the early losses in conference and the fact that no one was expecting a NC.

I remember the Bearcats struggling early in the season, and dropped some clunkers. When they got whooped by New Mexico, I thought they were probably headed to the NIT and would finish in the lower half of the league.

Then, their entire season turned around with an ugly, low scoring slug-fest in MSG against Pitt. They finally discovered their identity as a monstrous defensive team, and it catapulted them to the league title.

It could certainly happen again, for any of us.

A lot of times, things get lost in the wash with so many teams during the season. Deandre Daniels came out like gangbusters in the OOC, then he had a high ankle sprain and missed half the season. He came back into form in March. He was crucial to UConn's success. A team like UConn, who replaced Daniels' minutes with glue guys like Kromah and Giffey, gets hurt badly with an injury like that.
