I might be wrong, but I think 4 of those were in the 1st half; if that's true, then quite an effort protecting the ball in the 2nd half.

I hate to say it but it's not going to come from garber. Lauf seems to be the man to be, clearly increasing his three point game while is dribble drive from the wing is and has always been fearless. May see him start a game in near future. TK loves him and his hustle is second to none

We got many great and open looks all day and with about 2 minutes left in the first half we saw the week off payoff. Cutting a 25-40 lead to 3 in a matter of seconds shows what this team is capable of. All starters in double digits in points for what I want to say is the 4th or 5th game this young season. Everyone made some great plays and gave up some bad ones tonight but this one goes on the left side of the record column. The future is bright for this team and a few non conference games remain before the long haul of Mac play begins, some wins and a hard fought game at Cameron indoor is in order before then.
P.s. Awesome to hear "Footballs next" being chanted from the student section as time expired, some students seem to know what talent is sitting next to them in class. Go Rockets

We do have 2 games coming up that give us the chance to play a more complete game--Robert Morris and then at McNeese State. I would love to see Garber become an intentional part of the offense. His play, I believe, will be key once we hit the MAC portion of the schedule.

You're right about Lauf, particularly the past few games--but we really need a post offensive threat, especially since Boothe often gets into foul trouble. Garber needs to get better.

Which sucks because boothe doesn't ever foul anybody. Some of the calls against him are horrendous

RE: MBB: Arkansas State-Toledo game thread
Yeah, there was a point late in the second half where The Rockets had 2 team fouls and all of the sudden there was whistle after whistle for away from the ball fouls, and they were all on Boothe--I think there were 3 fouls on him in that short stretch. He didn't foul anyone, obviously; it was just the stripes chasing the foul totals they were 'supposed' to have, in the team foul column and in the Boothe column.

One thing that bugged me that wasn't an isolated incident is that our bigs constantly think that just because they're open, they can hit a 3. They're being left open for a reason. Nobody is worried about Weatherspoon or Garber shooting 3's. At least Garber hustled down his one miss and found I believe John John Williams for a more reasonable 3 that went through, and that kicked off that run we made in the 1st half that arguably won us the game.

Wasn't able to go to the game. On paper these guys looked like an easy win. Why are we letting teams that shouldn't be within 10 pts of us stick around and make it interesting. Lots against Oakland and Detroit, now a hard fought win vs a horrible team.

My take on that is that your premise is false. We're not that much better than these teams. I've decided that Rian Pearson was the best player in America last year but we didn't know it 'til now.

We never get second chance ops... I only want Jon Jon and Juice taking threes. The rest should be looking for 15 foot and inside jumpers and crashing the boards. When shots go up no shooters follow their shots and no one is near the basket to get rebounds other than Lauf. Drumond has a nice J on the move inside the charity stripe.... utilize it. Play around the blocks and set picks for Boothe...bringing him up to set picks at the three point line is fine if he flashes to the basket for a layup... He's 6"9... GET HIM THE BALL WHERE HE CAN SCORE! His jumper his nice, but like lots of other guys on our team it gets like 1 foot above the hoop and has little chance of bouncing in if it isn't all net. The team is extremely athletic and individually pretty good for 9 guys deep. But not enough hustle, and not enough "something". "Something" we had last season.

You're right, when things were looking as good as we had hoped they would look in the beginning of the year, he was scoring at a higher volume. We knew the jumper would fall off from the hot 3 first games of the year where I want to say he only missed 4 shots from the field. The point is, we were winning. Him and juice need to lead the team in scoring for this team to win right now, we can expect the support to come from good nights from the other starters on any night. Get booth working down low and let juice take his shots the field will open up.

Watched every game so far and I think we are getting worse with each outing. We get few points, few rebounds, and no scoring out of the "center position". The play, as compared to beginning games, has not improved. Some people have been complaining about JDW, but I think if we didn't have his contributions...we would be in real trouble. Lauf's play has really gotten better and others need to step-up on "D" along with getting some rebounds on both ends of the floor. I live in the Patriot league area of NJ/Penn. I saw the Lafayette /Robert Morris game at the beginning of the season and Lafayette blew them out. We have already played Bucknell, another Patriot league team and I think they are a better team then they showed. A loss or another game like the ASU game would really not bode well as we head into conference.
play. I think we're really playing pooly!
