Early in the season this year, I would have said that Ga St. is probably the only possible D1 win we have next year, but with UTSA shitting the bed this year, and losing a huge number of players, that might be another winnable game.

I still don't see more than 3 wins in our schedule next year though and less is probably likely. I wouldn't be shocked if Presby is the only win we have unless we get lucky and bring in some great JuCos in the coming months.

Wait... What?!? So yall think yall can beat UTSA?!? That's the best thing I've heard all year!

I don't expect to no, but you guys were terrible this year and you graduate a huge number of starters. You're delusional if you expect to be good next year.

Maybe you will be, but you have no reason to expect it.

UAB would have been in the race with all the starters they would have had back. FAU and FIU should be better too. ODU should be down a bit and Charlotte will see its first FBS action.

LT should be favored in the west followed closely by Rice and UTEP. USM will be much better and UNT should be on the rise. UTSA should struggle since they lose so many starters.

UTEP's OOC:

@ Arkansas
@ Texas Tech
@ NMSU
Incarnate Word (FCS)

God...UTEP's OOC sucks. What is Bob Stull thinking? The ONLY home OOC game is against...Incarnate Word? That should sell out. I'd better get my tix now. We only have 5 home games all season. What a bonehead.

WTH 5 CUSA teams with only 5 home games. MT, FIU, WKU, NT, UTEP.

We have 6. The BSU series is canceled and replaced with a home FCS game.

How many games did yall win this past season and against who? You are sadly mistaking if you think you can come into the dome and win. You don't have FBS caliber players yet. Our players that are coming back next year are better than the ones that left. The ones that left had experience, that's for sure, but as we all know, experience alone doesn't win you games. Hell, yall would have a tough time with our crowd. I think our crowd alone can beat you guys...

RE: 2015 Football (I know it's early)
I looked over Charlotte's team and recent seasons. Not too bad for a revived program. But I noticed that Charlotte has Jeff Mullen at Offensive Coordinator...

I'm sorry Niner National, but that guy's offensive scheme will be eaten alive by a few of the defenses of C-USA. I remember the man's plays from 2008-2010, and every defense WVU played against would eventually catch on to what he was doing. He only did so well because he had exceptional players.

I don't know. Maybe he will have changed over the last five years. But if he's still using the same old tricks, expect a lot of trouble and heartache.

What does everyone expect for next season's divisions? I'll take my first stab, based on little knowledge of who in CUSA is losing what, and assuming the divisions stay as they are (minus UAB and plus Charlotte):

CUSA East:
Western Kentucky
Marshall/Middle Tennessee
FAU
FIU
Old Dominion
Charlotte

CUSA West:
Rice
UTEP
LaTech
Southern Miss
North Texas
UTSA

I see things a little differently, although I think you pegged the East pretty well

Western Kentucky: (7-1) Doughty back and assuming they get some defense
Middle Tennessee: (6-2)More experience at QB
Marshall: Q(6-2) Question on O Line
FIU (4-4): STronger defense and offense starts to catch up
FAU (3-5): Like this year, they will surprise some folks
Old Dominion: (2-6); NO Heinecke = less wins
Charlotte: (0-8). Will have rough season

CUSA West:
LaTech (6-2) Dixon is the difference, along with defense
UTEP (5-3) Miners continue to improve
Rice (4-4) Think the Owls will drop a bit next year
Southern Miss (4-4) More improvement. 2016 is their break out year
North Texas: (3-5) Will rebound a little
UTSA (1-7): Huge graduating class

RE: 2015 Football (I know it's early)
We have a QB sitting out that I think will be fine. Has a better arm than Cato. We have all our RB's back and WR's except Shuler. He will be hard to replace but Hyleck Foster stepped in and likely was our best reciever the last 2-3 games of the year. He will take Shulers spot.
If we can plug holes in the OL and DL, I would say 9 wins would be good. Going to WKU and MT will be a very tough chore.

We are going to suck next year. Anymore than 2 wins and the season should be consider a success.

Au contraire my friend. I would not be so fast as to write off ODU just because the Monarchs are losing Taylor Heinicke. His replacement will be redshirt freshman Shuler Bentley, 6' 1", 201 lbs and two-time winner of the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. He is a Heinicke clone, but with a slightly stronger arm. In high school he threw for over 5,000 yards and 71 touchdowns -- oh wait -- that was just his senior year!

Taylor Heinicke was nothing short of superb for ODU football, but I personally do not expect the Monarchs to miss a beat at quarterback next year and for three more years after that. Bentley will also have Freshman of the Year, Ray Lawry, in the backfield with him, and most of the O-line is back.

The defense improved throughout the year and played a key role as the Monarchs won their last three games against LA Tech, FIU, and FAU, including holding LA Tech scoreless in the second half. This year's defense will be better.

Additionally, ODU had an above average C-USA recruiting class last year and most were redshirted. It looks like this year's recruiting class will be one of the top four or five in the conference.

All said, I expect ODU to be bowl eligible with more that six wins and be in the thick of it for the East Division championship.

Down year for sure but UTSA still went 3-5 in conference play. We graduate a ton of SRs that were FCS talent. Purely amazing what Coker and his staff were able to get out of them. Each recruiting class has gotten better and better.

Main thing is we need a QB. My man Bogie is the same mold as Soza. We will be just fine as long as we survive OOC play.

Please.

You crowds were very poor by the end of the year.

Like I said, I don't expect to beat you guys. I don't even know if we play you. I think think you're the second most likely FBS win if we're scheduled to play each other. I don't expect to win any FBS games though. Our defense was trash last year and I don't really see that changing for next season.

WKU was the youngest team this past season in CUSA and one of the youngest teams in the nation...Still have reservations about our D coordinator, but if we don't improve a little from this season, he should be fired mid season...

Yeah, Doughty getting a 6th year will be huge for them; definately the front-runners going into next year. If they find a defense, they could be a challenger for the Access Bowl.

We play @LSU, @ Vandy and @ IU...Not that Vandy and IU are great football teams, but will be hard and almost impossible to go undefeated vs. that schedule....

The poster who was worried about Jueff Mullen's offensive schemes is worrying about the wrong side of the ball. It looks like the 49ers gave up an average of 37.6 ppg against scholarship FCS competition and DIII Wesley. Charlotte will be lucky to keep their PA averge below 55 in CUSA play next season. That does not equate to many wins.

1-10 seems likely. Marshall and Temple will be amongst the first FBS level programs to play at Jerry Richardson stadium. That alone is a victory. Baby steps.

Yep. I'm not terribly worried about the offense unless our oline sucks next year. We'll get a lot of yards, but if Johnson is still the QB, we may also have a lot of turnovers.

We have FBS talent at receiver and in the backfield.

On the defensive side of the ball, we might have a few FBS caliber guys, and I'm not even sure about that. Maybe some of the new guys that redshirted will be.

I'm afraid we may give up 45+ ppg next season.
