Charlotte Hires Texas Tech's Former DC
Mark Wallerstedt.

He has some baggage after being accused of sharing signals with other coaches in the Big 12 and was let for for supposedly being 03-drunk on campus, but there is no way his performance could be any worse than what we had last year. He was most recently at ULL, but he was let go.

Former DC is apparently getting hired by WVU, but not sure in what capacity.

I was aware Wallerstat was not returning in Lafayette.
I will say that the defense got better after Wallerstat arrived. He started as a consultant, but was placed on the actual coaching staff after a few weeks when another coach resigned.

NN, as I read it, he was asked to resign from Texas Tech after being intoxicated on campus after a loss to Arkansas. Was not intoxicated at ULL.
See here.

I think ULL just let him go along with like 75% of their defensive staff. ULL's head coach declined to provide a reason for not retaining him or other coaching staff members.

Also, do you have any verification that Charlotte fired Bruce Tall? Just curious if he was fired, then hired by WVU, or if he accepted a job there and we are now hiring Wallerstedt to replace him.

Thanks, fixed it and the post title since I don't know that Tall was fired.

From TTU and the Big <XII, to ULL and the Sun Belt, and from there to Charlotte and C-USA. In less than 4 months.

The life of an assistant football coach is particularly unpredictable, but that's quite a journey for Mark Wallerstedt. Hope it works out for him and the 49'ers.

Is he one of the ones who left ULL because he didn't get his bowl bonus because ULL tried to take it out of the conference's bowl money?

According to the article on Sports Illustrated, he was Coach Lambert's old roommate at Kansas State.

Good riddance to Tall. Marshall fans should be happy he is headed to WVU.
