7. MAC: Northern Illinois vs. Bowling Green
6. C-USA: Louisiana Tech at Marshall
Attendance: 23,711
Date/Time: Saturday, Dec. 6, 12:00pm EST
Venue: Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Huntington, W.V.
Capacity: 38,016
Fill Rate: 62%
11-1 Marshall, playing for its first conference title since winning the MAC in 2002, couldn’t fill more seats for its showdown with Louisiana Tech. Especially since average home attendance in 2014 at Joan C. Edwards was 28,682, or 5,151 more than the conference championship.
I guess the AAC should place 4th or 5th next year depending on which school host the Championship game.
Our title game's weathe4 was HORRENDOUS. It rained all week snd forecast frm 5 days out was 100% chance of rain. It was driving rain, wind, and it made the 50 degree weatger seem like 20. Everyone there was ponchod up and sat through that. There was a solid 23k there and it was a fantastic crowd given conditions. Would have had 33k or so easily with good weather.

33k is embarrasing and pathetic. We had 33k vs a winless team in pouring rain this year.
Move along marsha fan.

Cincy, UCF, ECU, Memphis would all be good hosts, attendance wise...

RE: Attendance Rankings - Conference Championship Games
The longer the playoffs go on, the worse the attendance will become for neutral site CCGs. When reality sets in, that if your team plays for the NC, you could be making 3 big trips in a few weeks time, the CCGs will be the first road trips dropped.

It rained all week and killed attendance. I know Marshall fans. We may have hit 30K but not much more. More realistically it would have been 28-29K.

RE: Attendance Rankings - Conference Championship Games
The ACC game looked like it had more than 9000 empty seats at BOA Stadium. Not to mention sections on both ends of the upper level were tarped over with giant ACC and its member banners.

Southern travels extremely well. One of the largest crowds we've had at Cajun Field (in excess of 42,000) Southern was the opponent.

Yes, we have a big 'Jaguar Nation' fan base and it travels the whole south.
FYI, i was at the ULL game. ULL fans were a class act, very friendly to us.

I had no idea that Northern Illinois attendance was so low (13-14,000 per game)
