Rice and Tulane?

Nice line through the midwest? That is a bit of a reach even by your bottom of the barrel standards. BYU to Cincinnati is a leisurely 1,727 miles. Colorado State to Cincinnati is a leisurely 1,254 miles. BYU to Texas is 1,432 miles. The Texas AD just shook down boosters for $25. I'm sure they will enthusiastically want to add hundreds of thousands of miles and dollars to their travel budgets.

That rabbit is getting a lot of mileage running around with its head cut off.

RE: BIG XII Megathread
It would bring two solid divisions (the North consisting of WVU, ISU, KSU, KU, OU and OSU; and the South consisting of the TX + LA schools, making reference to UT, TTU, BU, TCU, RU and Tulane).

And don't forget UTEP. They would be a great add for the Big 12 as well.

Neither are AAU or in a major TV market like Tulane and Rice.

Big XXII games against Rice could draw as many as 500 for a home game. Attractive.

RE: BIG XII Megathread
Expanding the footprint does little to strengthen the Big 12 brand – which is what the Big 12 needs most. In other words, being “a mile wide and an inch deep” doesn’t help the Big 12 Conference very much. It’s better to build the conference from within – with schools who are regional rivals that existing Big 12 member schools would like to play – and thereby establish much-needed stability and position the Big 12 to later expand if necessary.

Moreover, the vitally important Houston market is in play as to whether it’s SEC or Big 12 territory. Adding Rice to the Big 12 and part of the conference playing rotation solidifies the Houston market as Big 12 country.

Rice actually expands the recruiting base for the Big 12 because it recruits differently than other Big 12 schools. Like Stanford, Rice will nationally recruit a specific type of student-athlete that can meet Rice’s rigorous academic standards. This doesn’t diminish other Big 12 schools in their recruiting, but instead complements it.

Rice’s academic reputation serves to enhance the Big 12′s overall brand. It’s no coincidence that every other major BCS conference has a school similar to Rice.

Not one but TWO unattractive Houston schools in the running? Conference recruiting HELPED by adding another Texas school? Texas, Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech will think this is a good idea? Link?

LMAO

RE: BIG XII Megathread
Cincinnati, Tulane, UCF & USF would be my guess for the Big XII and they’ll become the Big XIV. They add the #13 (Tampa), #18 (Orlando), #34 (Cincinnati) & #53 (New Orleans) TV markets and put a flag in fertile recruiting grounds of Florida, Louisiana & Ohio, which is ACC, Big Ten & SEC country. It would be a smart move by the conference and I suspect ESPN & Fox Sports would re-up on the deal immediately to add extra inventory for their sports channels.

Leaving an AAC consisting of:

UConn (assuming they don't jump to ACC)
Memphis
Tulsa
SMU
Houston
Temple
Navy football
ECU

to add some Sun Belt or CUSA teams.

Ouch.

Memphis has finished in the top 5 for football viewership over the past 12 years along with New Orleans. Birmingham is #1.

I know that you are just trolling the sheeple because you told me at lunch on Saturday, but you should still try to use facts when trolling. This attempt was an epic fail, amigo. Rice's football roster is about 90% Texans. Do some research before trolling next time, doggy.
