MSU, OSU, and GA Southern will be tough no question, but @NIU and @Toledo shouldn't be considered in deciding our schedule next year is tougher as we can't even beat them at Home at Waldo.

I think we can beat Georgia Southern and Northern Illinois next season. Won't be easy, but if we can win 2 of that group of games, there's no reason we can't win 9 games.

Key player injuries or a coordinator or position coach leaving could hold down performance on the field.....Lets hope none of that happens.

Rome mentioned that PJs name had surfaced in UofM talks. And also asked about other jobs. I'm wondering if maybe this is part of getting PJ name out there for others to start learning about. Regardless of what he says about staying in Kazoo.

I like your posting and its thoughtful but man you're depressingly pessimistic sometimes

Sorry. I honestly don't think PJ is going anywhere.....at least not yet. He's not ready to take the next step. Needs to actually win something first. As I have said multiple times, was this years turnaround incredible? Absolutely. But until he at least get WMU to the MACC game I don't see him really being an option for a bigger job.

I was just pointing out that I immediately picked up on that when Rome said something about UofM. Found it interesting. Because other than HUGE in GR bring PJs name up on a daily basis for that job, I really don't think anyone else thinks he is a realistic candidate.

You want to see pessimistic. Just wait until next summer when we start hearing all of the hype from the Athletic Dept about how THIS is the year that we break through and win the MAC Title. That is my single biggest pet peeve every year about WMU Football. So once I start hearing that garbage, then its on. Win something that THEN you can talk about it.

I agree, I give him two years of the six he just signed. That's good enough for me...show me some more great recruiting classes, a MAC Championship, and then hand the program over to someone inside that will continue the high octane program with the same philosophy of RTB. Guys, the foundation will be laid for the next coach to literally hold onto the steering wheel and not funk it up.
That is all Enos needed to do in Mt Pleasant after Kelly and Jones left...see how that all worked out!

I think we can beat @GA-Southern, @NIU, and @Toledo next year. And if playing an improved BGSU w/ Matt Johnson at QB again there, I think we could beat them too, by the looks of it at this point. We CAN beat any G5 team on our schedule.

But IMO, all that's pointing out is that we 'only' have 2 non-winnable games: MSU, @OSU. So, we should go 10-2, right? 03-wink

Altogether, par/expected is who'd be the solid favorite against who you'll face, and expect to beat the teams where it's at or about a "pick 'em" or you're solid choice as a Win.

MAC-East in Parenthesis are Hypotheticals since we don't know the Whos:

MSU, @OSU: 2 Losses

@GA-Souther, @NIU, @Toledo = 3 Solid Favorites as opposition to win; 3 Losses

BSU, (BGSU) = 2 Pick 'Ems - 2 Win

FCS team, CMU, @EMU, (Akron), (@Kent) = 5 Solid Favorites as Us winning; 5 Wins

= 7-5 expected aka "par"

Could be that we beat @GA-Southern but we lose to BGSU. Just setting the realistic bar.

I don't think it's overkill. I'm sure Rome's show got a positive enough response to bring him back this fast.

Anyway, it's more pub for WMU

I love one of the responses to it when Jim Rome, with the pic of the oar, asks them to guess who's going to be on his show (today):

I know I could probably find this myself, but -- does anyone have the link to listen to Fleck on the show?

I watched it... He again knocked it out the park... And had a pen in his hand looking for his WMU contract extension... PJ is all in.

Here's a link to the Jim Rome web site (I'm not sure how long the P.J. interview will be featured on the site):

Not bad. I liked the radio interview better, though.

Direct link that should continue to work for a while: http://cbsprt.co/1wNXnBi

I agree with others, the radio interview was a little better. Still, he looked and sounded good and clearly is all-in with WMU and appreciative of KB taking a chance on him. He's still one hell of a representative for our university!

Quote:It's very close to being done. I tell you, I'm eager to sign the line, to be honest with you. I'm very eager. I'm starting to wonder if they don't want me or something, I've got the pen right here. I'm ready. So if she's ready, I'm ready to sign it.

I tell you what, I love Western Michigan. I'll be honest with you... I really haven't done anything here. You know, we've gone 8-4, there are zero championships, we still haven't won a bowl game yet. So a lot of things we've done we've already done in our program history. I'd like to do a lot of things here and continue to change our best and do what we said we were going to do here - win championships. I'm happy being a Bronco, I love being a Bronco, I got my pen right here Jim, ready to go!

Awesome, I love to hear him talk. He is a better human being when you get to know him, and he has an eye for detail. That alone will take him far, and I hope that we get to enjoy the journey.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

Well said acer1...I agree totally!

These next few years are going to be special...enjoy it! KB needs to get the contract out cause the way Fleck has been talking as of late, he is ALL IN as our Bronco Coach.
Don't want to wake up tomorrow morning and read in the newspaper that he is gone. LETS GET IT DONE!

RTB...lets get this win on Saturday!
