AAC selling 6th bowl-- pretty low class move
Hindsight is always easy to judge, but the selling of the Bahamas bowl to CUSA will keep Temple home.... The move screams small time and the commissioner should be ashamed. I think even a 8 win Temple team would have stayed home because there are no extra bowl slots this year.

Anyhow congrats to the top 5 in the league... Just disappointed that a league decision decided it for our guys.

Bowl picks aren't yet but that 10 - 3 game last night where neither team acted like they wanted to win will probably keep them home at 6 and 6 and there may be some 7 & 5 Sunbelt teams sitting home. I hope they do get a bowl but the field is crowed at the 6 & 6 level. The AAC will be be adding at least one more bowl but with 12 teams in the conference the AAC needs 8 solid bowl commitments plus the G5 Access Bowl for a total of 9 possible post season bowls. 07-coffee3

RE: AAC selling 6th bowl-- pretty low class move
Low Class? sounds like someone has sour grapes on your part..

c-usa bought the bahamas bowl, it only seemed fair they should be the first to team to play in it...but according to you low class is letting a conference have a chance to open at the bowl it bought

"that a league decision decided it for our guys." what decided for you guys is only having a .500 record..

i wrote this in the other thread.. we needed to build a relationship with byu, and they were a preseason team projected to finish 11-1..no one saw them losing their heisman qb... and we have 3 back up bowls and had a shot at the access bowl..i don't think anyone could have predicted the pac12, sec, big10, acc would all fill 100% of their bowl spots plus extra and even the big 12 had 7 of the 10 members bowl eligible ..no one could have predicted this many bowl teams ...their is literally only 1 atlarge this year...if cal had beat byu, their was a 100% chance a p5 would have been left out

you can talk hindesight but he 100% made the right decision at the time for a relationship with byu, a better bowl opponent, a "class" move for c-usa especially when preseason we were projected to have 3 unfilled bowls

RE: AAC selling 6th bowl-- pretty low class move
No one was dumping on this move at the time. You traded a game against the MAC and a game against CUSA for a game against BYU. That's not a terrible trade, just because Memphis was surprisingly good and just because the top AAC team isn't competing for the Access Bowl. If ECU were in the Access Bowl, or Memphis were 5-7, Temple would be bowling and no one would be complaining about the BYU-Bahamas trade.

I have never thought that a .500 season was deserving of any post season play. I am including the ones that my own school was a participant in. There are too many damn bowls anyway. Post season play should be a reward for having a very good season. 6-6 is not a very good season. Im not going to comment on Aresco's decision. I don't have enough information to do so.

Please give me a break the Bahamas bowl stinks to high heaven.
You need a passport to see a 6-6 team play a CUSA or MAC team in a cricket stadium.
Sorry I pass on that

7-5 Temple stayed home as well. Our league did not protect its members...keeps us right on par with MAC and Sunbelt.

I would rather see one of the American's top teams play BYU than see another couple bowl games against lower level conferences. Temple wouldn't be on the outside looking in if they won more games. In 2007 a 6-6 Louisville team didn't make a bowl game either.

stop acting like the AAC sold it at the end of the season after it knew temple was going to be bowl eligilble , stop preaching your sour grapes..

the AAC did what was best for the league...they gave up the #5 c-usa, #4 Mac, for a team that was projected to finish top 15 team with a heisman candidate who was projected to finish 11-1 preseason...

there is a 50% chance 6-6 illinois from the big 10 isnt going bowling, im guessing the big 10 didnt protect its members...it happens we had a over supply of bowl teams this year...atleast 6 teams are projected to be left out

we came into the season as favorites to win the access, with 5 other bowl spots, and 3 back up spots..and only had 4 bowl teams out of 10 last year.... as much as im sure UCF would have enjoyed playing WKU in miami..it was unquestioned the right decison

literally if unc didnt upset duke and oklahoma st didnt upset oklahoma, temple was projected to play a P5 as a replacement, im sure you wouldnt have mind the decsion then, instead of playing 6-6 ohio from the mac in the bahama bowl..the chips just didnt fall in your favor

you are just preaching sour grapes...we have 7 bowls next year, 3back ups and another chance at the access..our members are "protected"

and temple is 6-6 not 7-5

7-5 even 8-4 someone stays home... But it's fine cause it's not you.

Just confirms we are a small time league...or low class.
