Well both guys think UAB should go to a bowl game and that the Blazers should accept if invited. Both believe it would a win win in regards to attendance and tv ratings.

It's a national story. I talked to a residency applicant today from texas who said her anatomy professor told her "UAB; you can't go there, the BOT is set on destroying that place" before she was coming out to interview.

Lots of people have heard about it. Lots of people in the medical side thinks it reflects very poorly on the university and institution as a whole.

I think there'd be nationwide interest in watching and attending a UAB bowl game.

I wonder if the powers that be would block us from attending just because it would bring attention to the situation, hell I wouldnt be surprised if theyre already working behind the scenes to make sure we don't get an invite. However, if it became public that we were invited and we werent allowed to go then that would cause even more backlash.

People that know I have some connection to UAB having been coming to talk to me left and right over the past couple days. All are sympathetic but most no very little about the circumstances. The sportscenter clip of the meeting with the players was powerful. The Gameday interview is gonna blow it up. We have to continuing applying pressure until something breaks. It's taken hold and we may not get another opportunity like this. They messed with our kids one too many times. Go Blazers!

Me too... and EVERYONE who talks to me about it thinks it's political/personal and that the BOT is corrupt. This comes from fans of Auburn, UAT, EVERYWHERE! Then they all ask who I'll cheer for now and my response is that I'm done with college football and am in the process of looking for an NFL team to start supporting.
