^ Wouldn't say atrocious. Still have to beat UGA, Florida (yes I know they're 'down' but they still have players), The Ol' Ball Coach. Kentucky and Rocky Top are building-getting better. Also beat A&M.

He won three Big 12-North Division championships. Not exactly getting his "ass handed to him."

And again, Mizzou is always in shadow of Sooners and Huskers on The Plains, even after latter went to Big Ten.

The only atrocious team in the SEC East this year was Vandy. Georgia is good - if they show up to play against Florida, they're probably playing today. Florida is down, but still a solid team. South Carolina was one of the biggest disappointments in the country this year. Tennessee and Kentucky are both programs on the rise.

The SEC East is not the SEC West, but it's still better than most divisions in other major conferences.

That was my thought, as well.

Not sure that GP wants to confront the delusions of grandeur with the Wal Marters, though. I think he could win at Michigan, although probably not win the B1G consistently. Remember how all the experts predicted disaster at Mizzou when they jumped to the SEC? All he's done is get to the title game several times.

Still, for some reason, I don't see him leaving Missouri at this point in his career.

As to Charm's claim, here is Pinkel's record. Nebraska and Oklahoma were the big roadblocks for them in the B12.

Pinkel's career

Toledo

1991 5 - 5 - 1 (4 - 3 - 1 MAC) tied for 3rd
1992 8 - 3 (5 - 3 MAC) tied for 3rd
1993 4 - 7 (3 - 5 MAC) tied for 7th
1994 6 - 4 - 1 (4 - 3 - 1 MAC) 6th
1995 11 - 0 - 1 (7 - 0 - 1 MAC) 1st won Las Vegas bowl, ranked 24th
1996 7 - 4 (6 - 2 MAC) tied for 2nd
1997 9 - 3 (7 - 1 MAC) 1st in West division
1998 7 - 5 (6 - 2 MAC) 1st in West division
1999 6 - 5 (5 - 3 MAC) tied for 2nd in West
2000 10 - 1 (6 - 1 MAC) 1st in West division

Toledo totals: 73 - 37 - 3 overall .646, 53 - 23 - 3 MAC .670

Missouri (in B12)
2001 4 - 7 (3 - 5 B12) tied for 4th in N division
2002 5 - 7 (2 - 6 B12) 5th in N division
2003 8 - 5 (4 - 4 B12) 3rd in N division, L to Ark. in Ind. Bowl
2004 5 - 6 (3 - 5 B12) tied for 3rd in N division
2005 7 - 5 (4 - 4 B12) tied for 2nd in N division, W vs S. Car - Ind. Bowl
2006 8 - 5 (4 - 4 B12) tied 2nd in N div, L to Oregon St. in Sun Bowl
2007 12 - 2 (7 - 1 B12) tied for 1st in N div, W vs Ark in Cotton Bowl, ranked 4th AP
2008 10 - 4 (5 - 3 B12) tied 1st N div, W vs NW in Alamo Bowl, ranked 19th AP
2009 8 - 5 (4 - 4 B12) tied 2nd in N div, L to Navy in Texas Bowl
2010 10 - 3 (6 - 2 B12) tied 1st in N div, L to Iowa in Insight Bowl, ranked 18th AP
2011 8 - 5 (5 - 4 B12) 5th beat N. Carolina in Independence Bowl

Missouri totals in B12: 85 - 54 .612 overall, 47 - 42 B12 .528

Missouri in SEC
2012 5 - 7 (2 - 6 SEC) 5th in East division
2013 12 - 2 (7 - 1 SEC) 1st East div, W vs OK St. in Cotton Bowl, ranked 5th AP
2014 10 - 2 (7 - 1 SEC) 1st in East division, ranked 14th AP

Pinkel's Missouri totals in SEC: 27 - 11 .710 overall, 16 - 8 SEC .667

Overall career record: 185 - 102 - 3 .638, 6 - 4 bowls

Anybody notice a pattern here? It took him about 4 or 5 seasons to get his program to contender status, both at UT and MU. After that point, 7 - 5 was a bad year. Was 12 - 20 in his first 4 years in the B12, 35 - 22 after that.

When Mizzou went to the SEC, it included a steep learning curve regarding conference foes, but his years of HC experience shortened the time frame to get his team competitive.

Cowherd tweeted last night that it rhymed with Zill Zellecheck. But he was just messing with scUM fans.

Sean Payton played for Molde at EIU.

Speaking of Pinkel, former Bronco assistant A.J. Ricker is coaching in the SEC championship game today.

^ If Payton keeps Rob Ryan as his DC much longer he'll need another job.

Rob Ryan is the kiss of death to an NFL franchise. He's ridden Rex's coattails, but what has Rex done? Nothing. The Ryan's are enigmas.

One selling point UofM has over the entire FBS is it's academic standing world wide....check out the top 400 schools in the world..... A mistake was made...Stanford is 7th. on this list

http://www.university-list.net/rank.htm

Ohio Stat is ranked 113th. Our Spartans are 171st. ND is 224th.
