I feel sick for UAB.
This situation should never have happened. Based on this and other reasons, I refuse to support Alabama-Tuscaloosa. May the "Tide" burn in hell!

For the longest time I've disliked Alabama-Tuscaloosa. Now I hate them.

I hate 'em now, too. The funny thing is before I heard about how bad Tuscaloosa was to UAB, I kinda liked 'Bama. Because of them, you go from having the funds for a new on-campus stadium to having no football program going forward after this year. It's downright ridiculous.

Agree 100% with the OP. For all the back and forth jabbing that's occured over the years between all of us, this is just disgusting. Almost all programs subsidize budgets to an extent, many MUCH MORE so than UAB did. To attempt to use that as an excuse is beyond pathetic. The level of hypocrisy is just baffling to me.

I'm so sorry Blazers, hopefully CUSA does the right thing. Maybe you could balance Navy in the AAC?

It's not that I can't believe it, because I can. It's UAT's modus operandi. UAT got what they wanted in the end. I just can't believe they'll pretty much get away with killing UAB's program simply for political reasons. It's not right. At all.

RE: I feel sick for UAB.
My condolences UAB. You guys were never given a fair chance. Up until it became official, I thought somehow it really wouldn't happen.

And it was done in the shadiest way possible--it was planned at least a year ago and then they go out and buy a study that confirms the conclusion they want.

The University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa is tied with the University of Texas-Austin as my least favorite school. And if the two schools ever play each other, I'll root for a blimp crash.

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered ad nauseam but... what is preventing UAB from splitting off from the UA system? I'm assuming a predominately UAT-grad legislature would prevent it?

This plus a thousand.

My condolences to UAB, it's players in all sports affected, and it's fans.

Agreed. May the people of the State of Alabama wake up and see the BOT for who and what they really are: A large snake nest. (They may not, but one can hope.)
