UAB fans: history lesson from WKU
Keeeeeeepppppp fighting! WKU was down to one vote from discontinuing the football program in 1992.

Quote:Many of those memories were at the forefront of Harbaugh’s speech Tuesday. He spoke of the first day he arrived in Bowling Green. He recalled the day WKU football almost died in 1992 before a 5-4 vote weeks later saved the program. He told of a 2-3 team in 2002 that went on to win the then-I-AA national championship.

WKU football survived on 5-4 vote

It CAN be done.

A last minute reprieve IS possible!!!

WKU did it in 1992.Compromise may be necessary to save the program.{more money games,no on campus arena for now, etc.}Once some enemies have died or been replaced you will at least exist to fight another day.

AState had the same fight in the mid 90's. Shame UAB's didn't turn out better because in the long-run the challenge made AState better and apparentyl WKU as well.

Just a d@mn shame.

To me, it's more like losing a friend you parted ways with. You promised you would go see them, but haven't. And just when you get in your car to go see them and drive up there, they pass on.
