Diaz may very well leave can't blame him. The guy is a rock star in Ruston. I would love to have him one more year.

The only way I think he will be around next year is if he really wants to be a head coach and is angling for a job somewhere.

P5 teams will be all over Diaz. He is one of the hottest DC's in the country.

But he wasn't when we were playing P5 teams...so we'll see. Other DCs are available who have had more success at that level.

I'd be a little gun-shy about jumping to a P5 if I were Manny, especially to a program like Auburn.

That said, I think he'll move on this year or next. We're happy to have him for now, and wish him the best if he does roll on.

Manny needs to take the first sure fire DC job he sees. Coaching at at G5 school has you looking like a hero one year and a zero the next.

Diaz was the Best Defensive Coordinator that MT ever had. If he'd been with the Raiders this year, I think we would have won a couple more. Our defense has not been the same since he left for Mississippi State! He was a scapegoat for Mac Brown when Diaz got the axe in Texas.

Have defenses ever been crappier in college football? It looks like teams just run up and down the field against one another these days and whoever scores last wins the game.

Diaz is the real deal and his stock is hot right now. As someone said in this thread, next year, depending on the talent available, he could look like a goat. One thing about most any P5 program, he'd have a lot more depth with which to work.

I know the Techsters would hate to lose him, but having your coaches in demand is a good thing.

If Stockstill gets canned would the blue horse people want him as a HC?? I know the dawgs in Ruston would in a heartbeat.

He would be numero uno on the list, I would think.

He would have been our HC had Stockstill moved on to ECU or Memphis after the 2009 season, even though he (Diaz) had already moved over to Miss. State a couple of weeks prior.

But Stockstill is not going anywhere, after this season.

Just wondering. I didn't know how solid a ground Stockstill was standing on.

Makes too much money, and just signed a 5-yr rolling extension. Even gets a $100,000 raise because he won 5 conference games.
