Notice the last line?

"There is no known backup plan for UAB's other sports."

Not even a bone for the few that would stick with the remnant of a school.

bull**** it came from within our own house. They put someone there who would do what they wanted.

Again, feel how you want, it certainly won't change anything, Ray Watts graduated from UAB and has been working in the SOM for ten years. He isn't anyone new.

I noticed that too. We're about to see a mass exodus of coaches.

His Payoff!!!!

From context in the other quotes this may refer to Clark,

Correct, and while at the SoM he complained bitterly about all the money being sucked out of the SoM by the undergraduate side of UAB. There is a reason Bryant et al chose him as president, and he sure as hell didn't have a mandate to improve the undergrad side of UAB.

They obviously don't care. That has been said from the beginning and hasn't bothered them.

Within the next 5-10 years it is going to be rolled back to the late 70's... a night school and extension center.

This. May god have mercy on the soul of whoever calls me for another donation. They already tried to get me to donate $150 on the spot one night. I told them I had already made a pledge to Blazer Boosters. I'm surprised I wasn't offered a refund...

Hopefully a monster portion of the commitments to their $1B wasted donation fund are about to be rescinded. If he's not interested in being a university president, by all means let there be a new school started with that funding. One that has the interests of ITS STUDENTS at heart.

Time for a University of Birmingham. Or Birmingham State University.

To be frank, I don't think even organized protests or the like will achieve much at this point. I'll still participate in the emailing and stuff, but maybe we should try to take this to another level.

I think we should try to shine a light on the machinations of the Board of Trustees, to somehow secure an independent study to reflect how ill advised this is, and show people exactly what is going on here. Perhaps we can start looking into if we can divert some of the money that would have been raised for the program into doing some of those things?

The only way to stop this is to threaten the Alabama sponsors. Unless the board knows that UA will also be harmed, they will not care. Every Birmingham business should be asked to stop supporting UA. Every UA supporting business should know that they will lose business because of it.

+1

That is exactly where I want my money redirected to. No telling what could be uncovered if we all redirected our money that used to go to sports in an effort to take down this board.
