FAU's strange season
I am really disappointed. ODU has just kicked a last second FG (hitting upright and in) to win the game 31-28.

FAU finish 3-9 (a step back from last season's 6-6). FAU had suffered 4 (FOUR!) losses on the last defensive play of the game. We could have been 7-5.

It seems, FAU can not win a close one.

Really odd year. Lots of injuries and bad luck. I like Coach Partridge though. I think he gets this turned around quick.

RE: FAU's strange season
I understand the heartbreak for the FAU fans, but at least it was a really good football game to watch. All offense in the first half, almost all defense in the second.

FAU's strange season
Indeed we just seem to lose a lot of winnable games in very painful ways

I'm just going to chalk it up to "one of those years" and move on. Hopefully the new facility announcement on Tuesday will help me forget the year...

Last year was also "one of those years". FAU seems to have a few of "one of those years" lately...

We won 6 games last season. This year we won 3 and lost 4 in the final minute...to me that is very definition of "one of those years".

RE: FAU's strange season
I've watched FAU play several times this year, and agree they are better than a 3-9 finish. They were a tough out for many of us...my Herd included.

Yup. Lots of bad breaks this year. What can you do? Hopefully we get a few lucky bounces next season.

And, yet, we had lost THREE times (Marshall, MTSU, Rice) on the last defensive play of the game last year as well. We just don't win games like that. We only lose them. Last year we COULD have been 9-3. So, it was "one of those years".

Over the last two seasons, FAU had lost 6 games on the last defensive play.

RE: FAU's strange season
I was thinking today how in the world did we lose to FAU? After that win, FAU did not win a single game rest of the way....That was a weird game for sure, but FAU got it done against us, must have been pumped to play us that day...

The Owls lost a bunch of players to injuries after that game.

RE: FAU's strange season
I personally think that this season's FAU team is just fragile psychologically. That is the only way I can explain the four last play losses.
