Sorry TXST you don't get invited to a bowl game this year because we couldn't sign a contract with the bowl...even though the bowl wanted to...because USA lost that one game to Idaho a couple of years ago when their QB went down and didn't get eligible.

I won't lie I would not lose any sleep over it if we were to get a wavier and be invited to the Camilla Bowl but I would prefer filling another conference's vacant spot like maybe the St Petersburg Bowl.

That number should eventually increase. I believe 2014 started a new 6-year cycle, but it was a 4-year cycle before then. Here are rolling 4 year averages of # of bowl eligible teams by year (you can see just how much we've improved):

2014 - 5.50
2013 - 4.75
2012 - 4.00
2011 - 3.75
2010 - 3.50
2009 - 3.75
2008 - 3.25
2007 - 2.75
2006 - 2.25
2005 - 2.00

If they get a bowl, and it knocks out (for instance) Tx St chances, then that's just wrong.

So they're saying NCAA denied the waiver.

As much as I hate someone like WKU, it still wouldn't be right if it knocked them out just because they are in a different conference and I don't like them. Sometimes its painful to be morally consistent.

If Georgia Southern were to be given a waiver and the Sun Belt actually allowed GS into the camelia bowl without USA and TXST being placed in their own bowls first, then I and practically every other TXST booster would demand that we leave the conference immediately.

Benson should be burning up the wire night and day trying to ensure both USA and TXST get into a bowl this year...
