Not sure if I'd call her the sexiest female ever but I'd certainly put her voice in the top 2-3 among female rockers ever. And that song and video are also top-10 too in my book. Too bad they haven't done much since that amazing start.

Very impressive list from the Mean Green nation; however, you have an unfair advantage because your music program is one of the best in the nation.

El Paso famous rockers include:
Bobby Fuller (I fought the law and you know the rest)
At The Drive In (Coachella headliners in 2012 and scheduled for 2015)
Mars Volta
Sparta or Sleepcar (Jim Ward vocals is a UTEP grad)
The Royalty (new band that just signed with a major label; majority are UTEP grads)
Phil Ochs (Hippie rocker from the 60s)
Ministry (Uncle Al now lives in El Paso)
Stevie Nicks (lived in El Paso during her Jr. High/High school years)
Vicki Carr (okay not rock at all)
Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) High school years in El Paso
Nikki Sixx (see above w/o Counting Crows info)

Really good article on the El Paso Music scene from a 2009 Vanity Fair article:

I thought for sure that Kinky Freedman would have been from El Passo.
He claims to be in his song "I'm Proud To Be An A?????? From El Passo".05-nono

I would love to claim him and Marty Robbins but they just wrote songs about El Paso. Steve Miller and Johnny Cash also mention El Paso in their songs.

RE: CUSA Rockers...famous bands from your CUSA town....
Obviously, you get more country, blues and christian genres in our area, but here are some other popular Indy's associated with MT...

The Katies
Self
The Features
Fluid Ounces
Count Bass D (rap)

Back in the day before they fell apart Spongebath Records was producing a ton of great local talent. It's hard to break through in Music City though. A lot of really good bands that most of you have probably never heard of.
