RE: Honest Question to GSU
difference between Fritz and Satterfield is Fritz has no personal ties or loyalties to GS. They are simply his employer, and if a solid mid major, with an established program went after him, he would give it serious consideration. Not the case with Satterfield, he absolutely loves App, and is very loyal to the school, both him and his wife graduated from App, he wanted to move back to North Carolina so they could raise their children near the grand parents, and his wife is very happy to be back in NC. Now of course, if a P5 school comes calling, especially on in the Carolinas, he is, as good as gone, but even if he keeps winning I don't see that happening for atleast 3 or 4 years.

RE: Honest Question to GSU
Anyone familiar with the stAte HC carousel around here? If the right someone comes calling with the right $$$, he is gone, period. SMU is G5 and was paying their HC over $2M. Nobody in this league can afford that. We are all renting our HC.

If Kleinline structured the contract well, it would have included a nice buyout as Fritz was taking the GS job no matter what. The Ark St buyout structure was well known so I would think we would have something similar.
Buyout is the remaining length of contract. HOWEVER, upon reaching 7 wins and based on the APR the team had in the spring I don't think he'll have an APR problem so his contract automatically renewed. That will be 400kish x 4 (4 year automatic renewal) which is $1.6 million.
Not sure if there's any additional amount on top of that, but I remember that being discussed by TK during interviews after Coach Fritz was hired.

If GS goes into Morgantown next season and defeats WVU along with another SBC title, then Fritz will be moving along.

Don't know about WVU, but I'm looking into rolling into Athens and running out with a win.

Odd thread.
Do what everyone else does?
There are no miracles for keeping a coach. Fwiw, I hope our coaches stay in high demand because quite frankly it means you have been kicking tail.

Miracle to keep a coach:
- Winning the lottery
- rich uncle passes away
- "Accidentally" get rear ended by a movie star
- Invent cure for common cold
- Cold fusion

The decision to leave is based on multiple factors. He has an entire staff to consider. A small company if you will. If relocating your business generates a multiple of your current income with no additional expense the decision to refuse the opportunity may lead to some long term headaches and instability with the staff. It's not that easy particularly when your so young.

I wouldn't begin to speculate the exact number that would trump Satterfield's loyalty though, and I sure as hell won't defer to a Georgia Southern fan to do so. Satt is homegrown (to a fault in most people's opinion before we started winning). We'll see how much money he turns down if/when they come acallin'
Fritz would leave Statesboro in a nanosecond if the opportunity/price was right.
Why did Satt leave App to be a position coach at Toledo?
I thought he left to be oc at F_U?
He went to Toledo first and then to FIU. Story goes that Cobb told him if he ever wanted to be the head man at App State, he needed coaching experience elsewhere.
