Anyone know when the Bowl game selections get announced? I am too lazy this am to search the internet for a date.

Everything except the Potato Bowl looks interesting.

IIRC it's the Sunday of conference championship weekend.

Whoever ends up in the Potato Bowl, it will probably be a really good matchup - I love the thought of taking on a Mountain West team. The big negative, of course, is Boise in December. Any of the other possible bowl destinations would be much more rewarding based on weather alone.

Playing an unbeaten Marshall team in the Bahamas would be the dream matchup IMO. Who wouldn't love another shot at taking down the Thundering Terd.

I think Darnell would scratch his belly and get up to watch that game through and through!

I would rather play a bcs school. Would be better for a few reasons. More exposure, and I think Marshall would be a real tough win this year. They are good. Much better than most bcs schools we would be matched against.

Playing Marshall would be tougher than a lot of P5 bowl-eligible schools, yes. But besides that -- the only shot at playing a P5 would be playing an ACC team in the Detroit Bowl, since they won't have any shortage but the B10 very well may (since UM's not making it), and 2 B10 teams make it to the BCS Bowls (OSU & MSU).

Yes, I'd rather have us playing UNC or NC-State in Detroit than playing random-CUSA team in Bahamas. If it was Marshall? Ooooh, I may prefer that. But Marshall I believe would have to have 1 loss for that to happen. I believe they're going to the BCS Bowl over Boise if both win out. We'll see once one of them cracks the Committee's Top 25.

I understand the sentiment, but for me that one MAC Championship game still stings... A LOT. I would love to get another shot at them, even if it is a decade and a half later.

Don't like those 'projections' for us. I wouldn't mind a Rice rematch, but I'd rather go to the Potato Bowl and play SDSU or Nevada. That'd be cool if we could play Marshall in the Bahamas Bowl.

WTF??????? Do they think UofM is going to beat Ohio St on Saturday? Then again, I guess I wouldn't be surprised if a bowl took a 5-7 UofM team. I really wouldn't.

None of our bowl tie-ins are with P5 schools, so this is most likely a moot point IMO.

I think the Bahamas Bowl against an unbeaten Marshall team on Christmas Eve would actually get quite a bit of exposure (probably more than playing, say, NC State in Detroit). I'm still not convinced Marshall is Top 25-worthy with their schedule, but they are a very good team, no question. Many of us would be thrilled if we played them in a bowl - I don't think their fans would share our enthusiasm, though, if that were to happen.

Well it's kind of a moot point with Marshall because if they go undefeated they'll be playing in the Peach Bowl.

I think they're a Top 25 team. Polls having them better than Top 20 -- yeah, that's going too far. But #21-#25, varying there depending on how other big name teams fare? Yeah. The last game wasn't to impressive, although you'll find that once in a while. If they finish the large dog off with Umph -- they're deserving overall of a 20-something spot. When I compare them to Minnesota, I can't imagine it being a "Oh yeah, Minn is better than Marshall." I mean, how many people would be Shocked if Marshall beat Minnesota? Hardly any outside Minnesota.

Well, I take back my comment about Marshall now because today, Boise St. is ranked #23 and Marshall is ranked #24. Pretty controversial if you ask me... Boise St. has 2 losses and Marshall is still undefeated.

ESPN's has one projection for us in the Bahamas Bowl (vs. MTSU) and one in the Potato Bowl (vs. Nevada). The one that has us in the Potato Bowl has Marshall playing NIU in the Bahamas Bowl.
