Its amazing your definition of a troll. And slain.. I know ecu fans are better than this.

Lets define troll. A CUSA fan joins the message board forum on 10/26/2014. He/she writes 3 post to CUSA forums threads. Sounds good so far. The last post was on 1/09/2014. Since then the CUSA fan has posted 27 post to this thread and this thread only. If that's not trolling I don't know what is.
I've explained this already

got quo written all over it.

You have? I'm replying to your post here which is #240 in the thread. I may have missed it but do find it hard to believe on the facts I posted that you are not trolling.

In all fairness, you say EVERYBODY is quo... you accused me of it and I have a 9 year presence on the scout board.

I think hes just another Herd fan who thought he would come here and set us straight. They just need to learn that we don't want to hear it and they should just save their time and stay on their board.

No you came in and started crap and were wrong in your assumptions. You cited a source without even checking if the law passed.
You attempted to imply that you would have been compeitive against Lville which is a joke.

Listen, I may have been hard on you but were tired of Marshall fans coming over here and attempting to tell us why you deserve this or that.... we dont agree and wont, so we really wish yall wouldnt.

We would be competitive with louisville and past practices show that.

I have a reliable source on the law and have seen it posted several times and never addressed. If im wrong and can be shown proof other than some on saying it wasn't, I will apologize.

And here's a noble thought.. maybe Houston didnt want to play us or we could come to terms.

Here is the 1997 session, you can check the 95 session too. Find the passed law.

Here is the bill

Tell me why we don't play them every year.

Quote:In 1997, the North Carolina Legislature proposed a bill demanding that UNC-CH and N.C. State must play East Carolina on an annual basis.

Im sorry I was wrong on the law being passed. Like I said the source says it was passed and thats what I was going by.

It doesn't change the fact that the state went to bat for your schools to play. Marshall doesn't have that anymore.

David Redwine...who was an ECU grad and from my area introduced the legislation. It never really got to the floor of the House. There was not enough votes to ever pass it. He played a poker bluff and no one called his hand. The UNC lawyers in the House evidently influenced the school to pick the series back up. Hint: They had something they wanted also in return. 03-idea

Thank you for that. Thay makes more sense all of around.

Im not a troll I just dont post until I feel its needed. I dont need to convince anyone about marshall. Sadly 12 people control college football now. It is what it is. This has been a fun season for marshall and if we dont play in the access there is nothing I can do about it.

Could we have like a temporary moratorium on Marshall fans here, until this G5 slot is decided? Geez, they are clogging up every other thread, it seems.

Boise and CSU are in the hunt, too, and I don't see them coming over here campaigning for their teams. I'm thinking Marshall fans are just more insecure.

You stated the game was released. With no consequences or cash.

The game wasn't released. It was moved back.. very different.

You said hamrick released it because he knew it would be replaced by an easy win and it was a plan all along.

He had no option in the matter because if he forced them to play on that day it would be bought out and not played at all.

Our schedule sucks and its a three way split between us, conference realignment and finances.
Yes, he let the game go. There were no consequences for Louisville. They didn't have to buy it out.

Us? Why don't people want to play you.
Realignment? See above point.
Finances? Auburn would buy you in a second.

You say he was wrong to let the game go and then have the nerve to say Hamrick is a bad AD? You obviously have no idea how scheduling works. I'll try to help.

We signed a 1-1 with Louisville, first game there (which we won), second game here. When Louisville got their spot in the ACC they were tabbed to play a road game at Notre Dame in addition to their ACC road slate. Because of that they had to drop a previously scheduled road game. So they called Hamrick to say they needed to move the game. You play Marshall AD and tell me what you would do:

1. Tell him that you will not accommodate the request. Louisville then sends you a check for $350,000 and you will never play them again. It not only costs you that game, but potential future series against a close regional P5 team that is a good draw.

2. Tell him that you can work with him, move the game to 2016, which fits both your schedules plus, for being willing to work with him, Jurich throws in a basketball game at the YUM Center and pays you $100,000 to play it.

Which would you do? Maybe you have another idea that you would have offered?

2 but he would have to extend the contract or pay half of the buy out which he didn't. Basketball coaches make Basketball schedules not ADs. Still no reason as to why he couldn't have scheduled Houston.

Houston would have come to Huntington? Plus how does playing Houston help us with the "you don't have a P5 on your schedule" thing? Lastly, I'm sure Jurich asked Pitino before he schedule Marshall.

I will fully agree that Hamrick never should have scheduled three MAC teams even with Louisville on the schedule, but he did it to try and get rid of playing a FCS. Plan just backfired with the Louisville issue.

not even houston (even though houston had preason votes) stanford was available and a preseason top 10,
and it has nothing to do with playing in huntington but giving your best team a chance to prove themselves... if you had to play 5 homes games to get stanford who would have been a top 15 team at the time of the game to give cato and his senior campaign a legitmate shot at history, i would have pulled the trigger..and if they had beaten stanford the 5 games would have been worth more than the 6 without them...

and if marshall had to choose id have just take reschedule the akron game for another year....picked up a fcs at home and gone big for a power P5 away..this could have beena historic year for marshall, for a 11-0 team no one seems to care about marshall at all

your schedule next year might be just as bad
