This is so true- I say it at length. It's easy to win a lot of championships when your conference nearly got an autobid to the game. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Even if you go .500 in those games, you win 5 of the last 10.

I'm pretty sure that the SEC and ACC are pretty close to dead even over the last 10 years in bowl games, for example.

37-1 was, I believe, a reference to the SEC west's record against teams outside of the SEC west.

I'm not going to go through each bowl, but in the BCS era the SEC was 17-8 in BCS games, the ACC was 3-13.
