Do they only pick 1 RB for the MAC 1st team? If they pick 2, it should be a no brainer...if only 1, then I wonder if his injuries which prevented him from playing complete games, let alone in every game, will hurt him with the "voters"? If UT were to get to and win the MACC, then I think you're right that Hunt should be recognized as the conference MVP. I've said before that he is just on a level by himself in the MAC--no disrespect intended for Franklin at WMU, but he's had more help this season imo with a passing game there that has also moved the ball, whereas as we saw last night, there are games where all we really have is Hunt. He's deserving of more mention nationally.

Hunt is an elite talent... He better be MAC Offensive MVP. I haven't seen anyone even close to him talent wise. His injuries have kept him from shattering a lot of records

He averaged 8.8 yards per rush against the Falcons. That is "average" for Kareen!

Hunt is head and shoulders and torso and butt and thighs ahead of Franklin who is pretty darn good. Any other choice for offensive MVP would be suspect at best.

At least we largely cut the crap for crunch time and just let Hunt win the game. Bowling green's QB's were 12 for 37 passing. They thought they could just show up and throw the ball against us. We didn't give them the 10-15 yard pass plays we gave everyone else. We took that away and BG had no answer. It's like we were saving that just for them. We took their strength away while they couldn't do the same to us. We're also very big on rush defense which was a huge factor last night as well as the other games in sub-desirable conditions at WMU and Kent St. It's not a bad strategy given all our games in November will be played somewhere in the Midwest. It was very apparent after week one that BG's rush defense was terrible and 3 months later, nothing's changed. I don't blame them for their envy of us.

Your forgetting the fact that BG's receivers beat us over the top, deep more times than I have ever seen in a football game in my life. BG just failed to execute and make an accurate throw. Yes, we shut down the short passing game but gave up the deep ball whenever they wanted, they just couldn't connect.
Oh I haven't forgotten, trust me. I also haven't forgotten the past 3-4 seasons where it was routine for opposing defenses to beat us deep. People keep saying how ridiculous this years pass defense is for the cushion they allow and I can only assume that's why. Because our secondary is really *that* bad.

So, I saw it as a good call to take away the shorter passing game. They did connect on a few long passes but on on the successful ones, it seemed like the less open they were, the more likely they were to make the catch. That's the part I don't understand, and that was definitely not unique to the other night's game either. We must be close to worst in the nation in PBU's. There were also several instances weds. night where the pass had fallen incomplete and our guy's still sprinting down the sideline like Forrest Gump completely oblivious to the fact the play's over. It was usually Dukes. Probably too late now but it makes me wonder if we weren't better off holding a tryout for walkons. I know there must be some really good athletes on campus who aren't involved in varsity sports and that ability has got to put her pretty close to even with the healthy bodies we have left.

No one could keep up with Lewis save the breakup Dukes had on, what I think, was the first attempt in the end zone. Dukes was beaten but got his right hand in and knocked the ball out of Lewis' hands. Great play.

IF the Rockets play the Falcons in the MACC they have lots of game film for preparation.

I suspect both teams will make a ton of adjustments if they meet again. Except for the fact that hunt should get the ball 30 times again. Or more.

RE: BG Game Thread
If we beat @CMU -- which will be a very daunting task as we will also be trying to save Franklin (RB) as much as possible for the NIU game -- our team will have the confidence and energy to thump NIU. PJ Fleck, NIU alumni and WMU HC, with the strength of a thousand field mice will beat NIU in that case.

If we lose to @CMU, then it will be a real test to PJ as a HC to see how well we adjust. We've been a better team than NIU once the season set in -- and it's at home. But, NIU knows how to not lose games this year, so WMU has to play soundly and on-point to win.

I thought Knapke and Woodside were far more offensive.

Anybody know why Hunt doesn't show up in the official NCAA rushing stats?
http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/c...vidual/469

It doesn't seem like it's for lack of carries or games. In fact Swanson is in the list and he has less than 100 carries.

If Hunt was listed, he would be 17th in yards, 4th in yards per game, 37th in rushing TDs, and 3rd in yards per carry.

Weird. I read somewhereche was 3rd in ypg and ypc but he sure isn't listed.

Yeah, you do have to give him credit for that and it was big.

Minimum number of games played? I see the low of 8 on one runner. How many games has Hunt actually been in?

8 games. It's 75% of games team played. He should show up after the EMU game.
