Corrected some of his bad habits this game but still has a long way to go.

He played a good game this week...Still has a ways to go.

Only thing that really stood out was his timing, but that has been an issue all year. Several times he hesitated on the throw and created a harder play because of it. May have the arm to throw to the sideline from the other hashmark. But as of now doesn't seem to have mastered the ability to put the ball where it should be when receiver is on the move or when they are coming out of the break. You know throwing the ball where the receiver will be. Do not even try to get him to throw back shoulder throw.

In regard to the back shoulder throw, you must have missed the SMU game.

This football team is 8-3 with a chance to finish first in our conference at 9-3. Paxton Lynch has played every meaningful down (excluding garbage time) for this team. Aside from the turnovers versus Houston ( and not all of those were on Paxton), our offense has done it's job in every game. It has not been perfection, but is has been good enough to win 6 in a row. If that's not good enough for you, then too bad.

You forgot the interception against Old Mrs when the score was 7-3 and we were driving to about their 25. Craig should have caught that pass thrown right to him instead they intercept a tipped ball that leads to 14-3.

Haven't forgotten it at all. That was all on Craig, not Lynch. This thread was about Paxton, so I saw no need to mention that.

He'll never be able to hit the deep ball. Also, I'm seeking apologies from those who labeled me a miserable for telling y'all the crowd was not going to be what you wanted

What do you consider deep? He hit Mose for 45 this weekend, which was his second read on a scramble, and he had a long pass for a TD at SMU.

Are you looking for a 70 yard bomb?

Right, but I wouldn't say that was tipped, it bounced right off Craig's shoulder pads.

Well, I'll answer you in hopes that I'm not attacked because all I'm doing is answering your question. His ball at SMU was about 30 yards flight length. His TD to mOOOOOOOze Saturday was about 25 yards in the air. He also hit mOOOOOOze on a corner route for about 35 yards Saturday and it took everything Paxton had to get it there. He had to really wind it up and sling it. Every pass longer than 25 yards this year has required the WR to stop, catch it, then start running again. Again, not criticizing him. Just pointing out a fact. Peyton Manning can't throw a deep ball either. S'all good.

RE: Lynch
Houston was a bad game for Lynch since the two.picks to that LB were poor throws. He also had a miffed handoff fumble that killed a good drive. But the defense gave up some major plays, too.

Back on Lynch. Yes, he had a poor overall outing against Houston. It happens to all quarterbacks. Eli Manning had 5 interceptions last week. NY opted to retain his services and he had a really good showing against Dallas last night.

Bottom line is Lynch has shown tremendous improvement this year. He's a key reason the TIGERS are going to at least share the AAC football championship. Plus he'll continue to improve and hone his skills. This offense returns many players next season; they'll be a considerable force.

Yes I agree. My point was that it wasn't just Houston that an interception occurred that was not his fault.

And he's only a sophomore. He'll be on draft boards starting next year. A two year starter with double digit underclassmen wins who is 6'7" (!!!) and is fairly mobile? Yeah, he'll have scouts next year...

Concur, but I think he'll get consideration. No guarantees obviously and I'm not sure he is good enough, but I think there is a potential path for him to Sundays...

I say that he is on about the same level that Ryan Mallett was as a sophomore. He eventually lit it up under Petrino's system and after sitting behind Brady for years in New England is finally getting his shot with Houston.

Eh, I disagree. Lynch doesn't have Mallett's arm talent, in my opinion.

In terms of the NFL, he isn't close to Ryan Mallett's level.

Frankly, I don't care about his NFL ability as of today.

He's doing a damn fine job (aside from one putrid performance against Houston).

He is a 6'7" qb. Some team will take a shot at him. He also has two more years to improve in college. He already made a big jump from freshman to sophomore year. A team like the Patriots will take him late and let him behind Brady and learn

I said Paxton is about where Mallet was as a sophomore. I then talked about Mallett. I didn't imply that Paxton was going to get where Mallett is. Or did I compare arm strength.

But I will add that Paxton has displayed more character and better personal decisions at this point in his career than Mallett did.

Paxton is doing a hell of a job and we have two more years to enjoy him.

Definitely has the arm strength...

Does he have the mind and the accuracy is the question?
