If Missing the MAC Championship game it would be nice to shed tears by winning at the Bahama Bowl.

Not me!!!!!! No matter how much EMUgly could help us out in anything ever, I can never root for them, will never root for thrm and always want to see them get demolished in out of conference action. Now, I can cheer for Toledo to lose their game, but I will not be rooting for the Seagulls.

Why all the hate for the Eagles anyway, just out of curiosity?

My hatred for the athletic teams from the east side of the state dates back to the 2001 football season when the Broncos went to play the Seagulls in the dump know as Rynearson. As the Broncos were heading to a route late in the first quarter or early in the second while they Eastern was getting away with all kinds of garbage after the whistle they ended upbreaking Jeff Welsh's ribs and puncturing his ribs. After that the Broncos were never the same. Surprisingly Esstern fans I find to be decent people whom I don't mind being friends with, but I will always look forward to their sports teams losing.

Our guys deserve a warm climate bowl either in Nassau or Boca Raton. The way the cards are falling right now, there's definitely a good shot of getting one those two.

We've got to be a lock for either one of those. I cannot wait for bowl season!

After the GMAC bowl or whatever it is called now ESPN is in control of the bowls I believe. So with that in mind I think we get whatever bowl has the best TV spot because of the story of our turn around and PJ's personality leads to great TV. Plus we are playing pretty good right now and if we beat NIU they could try and match us up with another good team or big name.

Being a new bowl game I think the Bahamas Boel and ESPN would want a team that is going to bring a storyline that develops interest and excitement as well as eyeballs to the television. Most people forget the WMU vs Marshall had for the longest time the most watched cable televised sporting event of all time.

The Broncos will bring their fair share of eyeballs, along with their energy and excitement. The trick is to mstch them with the right opponent.

The GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile has first choice. They usually go with the MAC champ, but it's not automatic. At this point, I think we'd be as attractive a storyline as any other MAC team should the GoDaddy folks decide to go that route.

CMU deserves to be fifth in the MAC bowl pecking order after today's loss secured their fourth place finish in the West. If Ohio doesn't become bowl-eligible, I see CMU ending up in either the Potato Bowl in Boise or the Camelia Bowl in Montgomery. IMO they should be Boise-bound.

If it's not us, I'd prefer to see some combination of NIU, Toledo, or BG in the Bahamas or Boca Raton. I feel pretty confident at this point that we'll end up in one of those two spots, though, which would be a great reward for a very deserving Bronco team!

Haldeman receives too much blame for that loss because a) he made what was almost the game-winning FG late in regulation; b) if we get a stop on 4th-and-6 late in regulation, it never comes down to that, and c) even if he makes the PAT, it only would have sent us into double overtime (it wouldn't have won the game).

Here's the Hustle Belt postgame write-up from today's game:

http://www.hustlebelt.com/mac-football/2...ap-broncos

This P.J. quote sums it up best:

With the win, the Broncos have now won 8 games for the first time since 2008, and have won 6 straight games following the heart-breaking loss to Toledo. Fleck, however, sees that game now as a blessing in disguise. "Everyone says 'shoulda', 'woulda', 'coulda', but the fact is that if we don't clank (the PAT) off the upright, none of this (success) happens. Everything happens for a reason, and after that, our whole season flipped. We've really matured since then. That's why you coach."
