Row the Boat - WMU wins 32-20 and it comes down to the day after Turkey Day. I will be in Ypsi for sure.

WMU is still a young team and is still making mistakes but once they straighten that out they are going to be a very, very good team.

The more key questions now are - will Franklin play, and just as important - will that LB or Safety (#7) play for Western next week? #7 is a hard hitter and doesn't back down from anyone. His hit on Rawls looked like it may have ended up in a collarbone problem or maybe a separated shoulder.

NIU had a lot of time to prepare for WMU, as WMU will have a short week for NIU. The adds may be stacking up against WMU, but NIU isn't really that difficult to figure out. With Hare and Stingely goes the Huskies... I'd say our chances are about 92% to beat EMU. WMU at about 50-50 shot. We will know at half!

I wish our game was an hour later. I'd drive up to Kazoo to root for the Broncos then across to Ypsi to cheer on the Rockets.

RE: WMU @ CMU
That short week is not as big of a differential as it may seem. Sometimes it is worse to have extra time - but we are talking two weeks between games vs. 10 days for it to be a detriment. Recovering from the bumps and bruises is a bigger issue, but with the knowledge of how to recover now - it is not as big of an issue - and these guys are still only 19 to 22 years old for the most part.

I don't see NIU being able to contain the running attack of Western and also defend against the QB who is pretty accurate. He is leading the MAC in QB rating at 169 and Franklin is leading the MAC in yards gained (although Hunt is only 106 yards behind him on 96 fewer carries) Hare is NIU's leading ground gainer - but I also believe WMU will be able to figure out how to defense him like BG did with Lynch in the MACC game.

Will see how this shakes out injury wise. WMU has to be about a 7 point favorite leading up to the game, but NIU seems to be able to make some breaks and doesn't shoot their toes off.

They are like two hours from each other. There is no way an hour would help you out...

Sure it would. I'd catch the last hour of our game. You guys could hold it down without me for a couple hours. Moot point though.

Terrell is a senior - I believe, and he is above average - but no one seems to be playing much at QB to be ready to take over. We know better than anyone that you need to have a top level QB to win the MAC - and guys that can catch if the ball is laid in their lap.

Terrell is a sophomore, and we have a 3/4 star guy Chance stewart who is redshirting this year. Many think it'll be a good QB battle next year.

I'm thinking Terrell will start through 2016.

Franklin is injured though. Playable to a certain degree, but injured. He re-aggravated it in the late part of the @CMU game. He still had a couple runs after crawling off the field, but he's going to be in a bit worse shape going into the NIU game than he was going into the @CMU game.

Our senior Chance can run decent though. We will have a running game -- but nothing Grand. Just enough to keep the NIU D honest and not put Too much pressure on our receivers.

I have to admit I was not impressed with NIU against Toledo. That being said, Toledo was even less impressive. We got lucky against WMU in absolotely terrible weather. I dont think NIU wins this game.
