RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
Hats off to FAU and their effort. That's two years in a row that it's gone down to the last second between these two teams. Partridge is a good coach who will get it done down there.

Well, let's hope so. But from where I am sitting, it looks very questionable.

RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
We didn't deserve to win that game.
We have played terrible the last three or four weeks. We don't even deserve a bowl game.
I guess it's better to be lucky than good.
Or it's better to have Reggie Whatley than not. We don't win tonight without him.
This series has been strange with these last second plays. FAU's first I-A win when we had the game won and FAU completes an 18 yard pass that turns into a 62 yard TD as time expires.
The Hail Mary 14-13 game a few years back and now this one.
And yes your coach made a mistake in not going for two. Same thing happened to us in 2006 that cost us an outright conference championship. Troy scored two touchdowns in two minutes to win the game 21-20 when we didn't go for two after going up 19-7.

**** my life. I'm tired of being told "oh good job Owls, you'll be a good team soon enough." I'm tired of hearing that for every one of these heart wrenching losses. Thanks for the kind words Middle fans, yall are some of the best in the conference. But for ***** sake I'm tired of this.

I know how old that kind of talk can be (remembering the Herd in the Snyder years!), but its true, nevertheless. You guys had a strong showing tonight, and in most games this year. Two of our absolute toughest games this year and last were against the Owls. I don't think anyone in C-USA East, at least, looks past you guys. And, I do think you are only going to get better. I like your coach, and I like the talent you guys have.

RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
Great game for FAU. For most of the game it was like boys against men, and coaches against cheerleaders. I think Stock and Faulkner heard my screams late in the game about their horrible playcalling and finally got some brains. Surprised we were able to win. Very exciting victory.
Thanks to the FAU fans who made it up to Murfreesboro. You had more than I expected, given the cold weather and distance. Hope we can return the favor down to Boca next year. Go Blue, Go CUSA.

Yeah the Wyoming game and then this. I was going out of my mind watching our game, if we'd lost like that I would have had a stroke. I genuinely felt bad for you. Not pity but empathy. We've been on a lot of the wrong side of those scores the last ten years, including at Middle last year. Blue ba$tards

I totally understand that. It sucks. You guys deserved to win against us last season honestly as well. Eventually those close games will go your way. Times like these where you go to bed aick at your stomach, will make the good times worth so much more.

The MT player actually suffered a broken leg on the play. Regarding the game, I'm not sure which coaching staff made the Greatest Bonehead moves! FAU for the fake punt /attempted pass that gave MT field position for a TD or MT Def. Co- Coordinator and his sidekick Steve Ellis, We had some matador tackling out there and NEVER Blitzing the UAB QB (He is really good by the way) is just plain STUPID!

Hoping for a fast recovery for the Middle defender that broke his leg. Right before the bowl game, finals, and the holiday season. That's rough.

Now I know the root of MTSU's defensive problems yesterday! You guys were going after the wrong QB! :D

FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
This team is a joke. No heart and they can't close games. Should be bowl eligible with this talent. Yet another choke job

RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
I was glad that FAU coach called a timeout when we were out of timeouts (with about a minute left). Allowed us gather ourselves offensively (with a rookie QB).
FAU had a good group of fans yesterday-- probably the most I've ever seen in Murfreesboro.
I heard late last night (and I could be wrong) that Chris Sharpe broke his foot. Just glad it was not some sort of spinal injury.
FAU's QB is a Beast.
Is Lucky Whitehead a senior yet ? Do y'all think he'll get a chance to play on Sundays ?

Whitehead can fly but there is no excuse for the fact that our defense never has containment with the Def. Ends or outside LBs. We only play it with a backpedalling secondary that almost killed us last night! FAU is tp be commended but if our Defense does not step up next Saturday UTEP will blow us away!

Our defense is pretty terrible, no doubt. With Byard in the secondary, you would have thought we'd be better overall there.
Nix making way too much dough for our D to be so porous. Bring back Manny D !

RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
We will eventually learn to win close games. I hear this refrain season after season now. Still, waiting for this to happen.
Good game, MTSU. You guys had enough heart to stay with it and win in the end.

RE: FAU VS MTSU THREAD.
I was surprised FAU didn't go for it on the 2 yard line up 10. A three score lead would have been a dagger, I think. Holding FAU to a FG there and keeping it a 13 point game gave our team some much needed hope.
