Wow!

Time to FIX THE FREAKING FOUNTAIN in Hurt Park (which was originally funded by the Woodruff Foundation, btw).

Would really like to see more student event daily at Hurt. Makes sense since a majority of on campus students walk past it on the way to and from dorms.

Problem is that it is jointly operated by the City and School (which means neither takes responsibility). One of then needs to take ownership and clean it up. I'm hoping that the fact that the streetcar goes right by it will cause them to wake up and do something.

I hope something happens with it, too. The space is perfect, but I think most students feel like they're supposed to avoid it as they walk past.

It is one of the reasons I was hoping the university would eventually purchase the 100 Edgewood building which would mean we literally owned 90% of the property surrounding the park and maybe make GSU Police it better. But also firmly believe that if more was held there daily it would force the less desirable elements out.

That's assuming they ever get the street car running after even more delays. GaSt may as well do the upkeep as the City of Atlanta just used those funds to pay millions of $$ out to city officials for unused vacation pay. The mayors staff was well taken car of too!!

I think I drove by there the other day, would there have been a lot of vagrants in there?

When I go by there are usually either zero guys in there or about 10. Its the park with giant Magnolia trees.
