I am not sure of the correct word to describe what I and others are feeling. Perhaps it is hopelessness, apathy, or frustration. I am still passionate about U of M athletics and I couldn't be more excited about the football program(I will be there with my family on Saturday).

But basketball??? I have lost interest in watching JP's team play. For 6 straight years I DVRed or Streamed every game I could find. The past two years, I have watched maybe 15 games. Only been to the forum once since 2012. I didn't even check the score on Tuesday, I suspected it would be the same A$$ whipping we take at the beggining of every season.

Every season under JP starts the same. This year is slightly differenct b/c we didn't have the expectations, but we still stink. Team looks undisciplined, no system, someone is suspended, etc..

In terms of recruiting, that no longer excites me either. It is funny how all the top recruits JP has coached just don't seem to work out. They were over-rated, selfish, bad attitude, blah blah blah. How can so many people ignore these trends?

Sorry for my rant. I love Tiger Basketball, but unless JP does a complete 180 with his coaching style, I just don't care to watch any longer.[/u]

I wonder if the AD knows that this is how some are feeling? I will continue to go to the games because I love the Tigers, this however doesn't mean I like what is going on. But I do think that Tom B. needs to know that there are fans that are losing interest and aren't happy.

I just look at this team and our staff and I feel 100% uninterested. Even in so many down years in basketball I have never felt the way I do now.

I can't put my finger on this feeling but I think it may be apathy. If I am apathetic I am very nervous about the rest of the fan base as well.

what feelings are you feeling?

Apathy
Excitement
Hope
Despair
????

I'm feeling the same way. It's weird. But after the shocker loss I didn't even have that sick feeling in my stomach that has always accompanied a tiger loss. I didn't play coulda woulda shoulda. Just turned off the TV, played "I told you so" on here for a bit and then continued my day. I don't even think I'll be able to get excited over a big win. For 35 years I've read every pre season analysis. Memorized player names, profiles & numbers before the first exhibition game. Got butter flies over memphis madness & exhibition games. This year I didn't read one pre season analysis. I can't tell you the names of half our players. I don't care that the Lawson's committed & also some other dude. I got sucked into the last 4 classes & I'm not getting fooled again.

Maybe its that we were so close. That cal is doing so great at UK & I feel cheated by him & the ncaa for not holding him accountable. But I used to get excited during the finch & price down years. Now, I don't care.

I've always been like that with the exception of tiger basketball. Too much to do in life to waste my time following the cards, steelers & grizz during down years, so I watch from afar and catch ESPN highlights, dvr national TV games....etc. but tiger basketball has always held that special place in my heart where nothing in the world matters for 2 hours 40 nights a year. Be it watching on TV, following on the radio or ESPN game cast. That's beginning to slip.

I'm still excited. It's a long season, and if we really do suck a fat one this year, it's no skin of me personally. I support our players, but besides donations I've got no money riding on our W/L record this season. I'll still watch every. single. game.

If we don't win a game, the sun rises and I got to work everyday just like usual.

I'm excited to see what this season has in store.

Just a waste of good brain cells to agonize about whether he stays or goes. Not my decision. Coaches come and go. I always stay.

He will when the Forum shows him how people feel. If they keep losing it will drop dramatically, hard to ask people to keep paying big bucks to watch something they have no faith in.

RE: Does anyone else feel this way? Apathy
I think we're all in the same boat, just different levels of frustration. It'll work out. We'll either get better, or somebody else will eventually get to try. We just don't get a vote.

Keep in mind, we're sitting here taking shots at a coach who has won 24-25-26-31-24 games his 1st 5 years, 4 NCAAs in a row, beat 5 ranked teams last year, won multiple conference and tourney championships, went undefeated in conference one year, all but one or 2 ranked losses we were underdogs, very few WTF losses over the years, etc.

Yeah, yeah, I know all the complaints, too. No need to re-educate me, lol.

If you're objective, the real issue is he hasn't gotten us to the S16 or deeper yet, in 5 years, and when we lose, mostly to ranked teams, we sometimes get curb stomped.

Just saying, this situation could be a LOT worse. Moe Iba, lol.

Honestly not trying to defend Pastner or change anybody's mind, just trying to lend perspective to the situation that has all of us concerned. It'll work out. Pastner will do what is expected by those who pay the bills, or not. If not, next guy gets a shot. Our program may not be all we want for a time, but it's not gonna die. Neither are we.

Anyway, we're a football school now.

Nicely done. That is hilarious.

I wish I could take credit for that. Sadly, that's a real pic.

Where is the outrage? I mean she painted her dog blue. Poor KoKo.

Anyone have a season ticket number?

Doesn't prove anything, but I know a few people who didn't renew this year.

I haven't been able to put my finger on it either.. For the last 3 or 4 years I just haven't been that excited about Tiger basketball.. It had nothing to do with Cal leaving either because I didn't like him when he was here.. I loved the runs and being successful while he was here but just didn't like him.. I guess my biggest thing is with Pastner, in which I like, is I just don't see any Coaching from the offensive or defensive side at all.. I just don't see anything changing from a coaching standpoint so I have just become disinterested.. Yes we have beaten a few top 25 teams but Talent alone will win the worst coaches some games.. His recruiting will continue to spiral south as it already has imo.. I'm still a Tiger fan but it just isn't the same to me right now..
