Yes, he did ask a question. One he already knew the answer to and was further exacerbated by the lack of UNCC football posts this year by your fans. You guys knew the answer too, he was obviously trolling you.

It was not a secret we wanted to go FBS, CUSA was a choice we were okay with. The SBC once Ga Southern decided to make the jump was the likely destination and IMHO the better one since they are our biggest rival.
As for no one pulling for your team, it is sure looking like your students aren't so that is looking more true by the day. If you can't get the kids who attend your school and already have paid for the tickets to show....wow you got problems.
That App team "maturing in FBS" is already on track to be bowl eligible this year if it weren't for NCAA transitioning rules. I think it is safe to say we made the move when we were ready to after paying our dues the old fashioned way. We didn't just plop onto the map and say "take me" with our only claim to fame being a city we don't own and aren't exactly even in.
We're in the city limits...
Not like we're the only school in the country with a campus that isn't in a downtown area. I'll readily admit that the University City area blows though. The city has done a piss poor job planning that area, basically rubber stamping any proposed development for the last 40 years. That's not the school's fault though.
Still, the city is great and light rail will help tie the campus to the city better. I have no delusions about light rail making the UC area better though. That ship sailed a long time ago when all the developable land around campus was approved for strip malls and unless those centers start falling apart (which doesn't look likely in the near future), they won't be changing.

Nice try....what part of still averaging ~4-5000 STUDENTS per game this season do you not understand? It has only been a point of discussion because our Chancellor insisted on giving students wayyy too many seats (7500) in the stadium. Very few teams average more students/game than we are, even now (playing FCS and D2/D3 teams at home).
"Against Coastal Carolina, under 2,000 seats were claimed by students, leaving over 5,000 vacant that could have been sold to the general public.
Spencer Kwolyk, the senate member who proposed to drop the allotment, says he feels the decrease of tickets is completely justified.
“Four thousand was a conservative approach where we figured that it’s not too low out of what is allotted right now. If we can prove that 4,000 are consistently coming, then we can raise it back up next season,” Kwolyk said."

There shouldn't be hard feelings from either school on this issue.
it's easier to forgive when the other school cancels a year+ in advance, rather than just months before. But, we did find a more competitive game in Campbell, so I guess it worked out.
You mean the Campbell team we beat by like 45 points in our first game ever?
I mean, we suck, but we're not Campbell bad.
I'm gonna chalk that one up as an emotional victory. Campbell on paper is the better team, but the first game for a program made UNC-C want to win it more. I feel like during late November when the ODU-UNCc game was scheduled, after a whole season of the Niners battling toe-to-toe with DII and DIII teams, it wouldn't have been as much of a game as the ODU-Campbell game was.

Nice try.Do they teach math at Crapp State? If so, you should have learned what an "average" is.....that was the lowest student attendance ever and there still ended up being 4-5000 in the student section 'from somewhere". The 3-4 sections you showed are always the last to fill up. the other 8-10 student sections between the 20 yard lines on the visitors side) were near capacity even for this game.

I still have that poster, and my prediction was right. We're going to be fine long term. We still have plenty of room to grow as a university and as a football program.

Looks like our "terrible dumpster fire" athletics not only beat Va Tech in basketball but also blew out the Louisiana Rajun Cajuns 35-16 for what will likely be a 7-5 inaugural FBS season.
1. Our "dumpster fire" athletic department still has a bigger budget than yours by 6 million dollars or so even though our student body is considerably smaller.
2. Our AD left because GA State doubled his salary in a desperate bid to have some of our football success rub off on them.
3. Our lowest attended game this season still had over 21k tickets sold which is more than your cute little stadium holds.
Carry on forty giners. I'm looking forward to you guys becoming our new Western Carolina in 2018.
Why are these little Appy fans even on this board? Are they that anger that there was no way CUSA was going to consider them? And bragging about a 7-5 record, which included a loss to CUSA last place USM, really?

Great day to be a Mountaineer!
However, please continue...
Congrats, maybe this will drum up the interest to add 10% to you basketball attendance to maybe 1200 a game.

We like the SBC, once we figured this FBS stuff out we are on a roll. The team from the first half of our season is not the same one right now. I would like to line them up with the Thundering Turds. Enjoy your CUSA appetizers...

Yeah you never know, might even go to 1300 after we beat the colossal titan of basketball UNCCee

Appalachian State: The Mountaineers broke a three-game losing streak, and a larger string of 10 straight losses against nonconference Division I foes.

Appy fans scour the interwebs for opportunities to share their opinions regarding Charlotte football. It's a proud tradition among the Appalachian State e-faithful.
Frankly, I'm astonished that their fearless leader (and quack attorney) hasn't reared his ugly head yet...
