jeebus Todd, you babble like a brook. Not sure what you said - more like a stream of thoughts, in no particular order. Mind translating that into something I can understand?

Ah, never mind.

It's called verbose.

That's the truth of it.

As for all this other crap you all are fighting about (trolling, Fleck's great, Fleck stinks, etc).take it somewhere else. I'm getting sick and tired of you all hijacking threads and killing perfectly good threads with your utter nonsense. You all have a right to an opinion yes, but we have a right to not see this every darn time someone says someone says something you don't like. I "ASSUMED" most everyone here was aduls capable of mature conversation, but boy was I wrong. I've seen more grade schoolers thst are more mature than most of the people here!

Cettain threads I stop reading because of the crap spewed in them. And considering the win today and how great it would be to come back to this thread next June for a football fix, that idea is now ruined because I'm done with this thread too.

Congrats to WMU on a good victory. They were the better team and deserved it.

Nothing wrong with trash talk but seriously, keep the Rawls and injury stuff out of it. Don't cheer when someone could suffer a serious injury. That's ridiculous. These are kids playing football for crying out loud.

Don't let all this success get to your heads. Remember when that fat guy who coaches at Michigan got them to the Sugar Bowl? Look at them now.

^ Indeed. I think we've all learned that multi-year hot streaks in the MAC are still hard to come by.

We've had three remarkable turnarounds in the past couple decades. Darnell's 1st year, Cubit's 1st year and Fleck's 2nd year.

In Fleck's turnaround, it's amazing where we came from just last year. We lost to a bottom-tier FCS team at home, the Iowa game was over by second quarter, Buffalo shut us out on our own Homecoming, and EMU beat us the day after they fired their coach. The lowest of lows.

This year, both our P5 opponent games were competitive, we trashed Chuck "I don't need no stinkin' slogans" Martin's squad, snapped the EMU losing streak in a laugher, had a jawdropping comeback at BSU, and won in Mt. Pee. We may miss the MACC by a hair-width, but we've got a chance at getting our first bowl win.

Come on George, no Bronco fan ever gets to trash talk, or even have a discussion over on Slappy Illustrated. It's a private club for CMU happy talk, run by a Kelly Shorts peanut vendor named Joseph "STATMAN" Goebbels [Image: hitler.gif] Worst of all he never even went to CMU.

Difference is that fat guy won with all of the previous coaches players.

Our guy is winning with a mix of both the old guard and the new guard.

Well, that guy isn't so young. That guy looks like Enos with a funny hat -- so no, NOBODY would want that... :)

Quote:jeebus Todd, you babble like a brook. Not sure what you said - more like a stream of thoughts, in no particular order. Mind translating that into something I can understand?

Fair enough -- it was a verbose rambling. Essentially: One can't "ha ha" at Fleck-Skeptics and those were pissed about hiring him as the season wore on last year, and coming into this year. There was no excuse for 1-11. It wasn't A game, it was a season. But I think a "ha ha" is applicable to those who Still didn't like him when winning this year, and still think he puts a bad/unsettling/odd image to our program because he's loud, energetic, and boisterous.

IMO, his attitude & projection is overblown in the negative. He takes a non-traditional approach -- he gets it done in the end. I'd take that over a bald, fat, older coach who swears like a sailor under his breath and goes 6-6/7-5 (old man in hat).

Quote:we would rather have an "old man in a hat"? making WMU 6-6 to 7-5 than a
"young, fun, boisterous," coach going 1-11

Yes -- exactly. That's why I say Last year, and coming into this year -- wanting an old man in a hat be the coach Was Warranted. Of course. But by the same token, it was "too soon" to be firmly grounded in that notion -- it was still a wait-n-see situation. Maybe this new young energetic coach could get us to that glorious 6-6 mark which would be Big stepping stone after his horrible 1st year. OH, way better now. That's why anyone who doesn't Like that he's our coach does deserve some Ha Ha (and eyebrows raised in confusion).

Right now, Happily Embracing him as our coach is on the same level as last year Not wanting him being hired. Both are sound viewpoints in their period of time.

What was even better was when me and a bunch of other bronco faithful were singing the fight song with the same players in the corner of the stadium after the game, when players brought the trophy's to bronco fans in attendance. Very cool!

I will say though, the team doesn't really "sing" the fight dong. More of a chant. Would rather they sang it.

Bball and hockey teams 'sing' it the same way. I love hearing it the way they do it though.

It's so weird seeing the spirit they have in the locker room this season. Last season a friend who knew a lot of the football players was saying that the attitude was 'Will we ever win a game?'

-------

Very sloppy game with all the turnovers by both teams. As has been said, it was kind of like the reverse of last year where the winning team actually had the majority of the turnovers. Feels kind of weird to have really only pulled away on the muffed punt return. Even if that didn't happen though, CMU was held to just field goals the second half.

Close to the end of the first half CMU had the ball on our 30ish and it was 4th and 2. They punted, pinning us on like the 5. We ended up scoring a TD in 3 plays going the length of the football field. I realize CMU was hoping that we wouldn't do anything, have to punt it there, and then they'd get the ball back right where they had pretty much with plenty of time before halftime. I do feel though that CMU should have gone for it there. We made the ballsy move to go for 2 on the first TD. This was CMU's turn to make their ballsy move. Them not converting on the 3rd down and 4th down, and then us putting up that scoring drive is ultimately I think the 'key sequence.'

The radio was also saying that WMU made the adjustments at half-time. CMU didn't. Where have I heard that before. .. . . . .. . .. . ?

We are also returning EVERYONE next year (Celiscar will be missed though). There's a huge probability Fleck will be back next year. If his staff returns, I don't see why we can't have a 'streak' of 2 years.
