I do not want SlAppy or GA Southern. If the SB schools had a coach that knew how to defend the option GA Southern would be under .500. I hope we don't lose UAB, but if we do give me AState or ULL.

Not saying they are my first choice but I would have no objections to South Alabama. Would be an easy drive for a road game. If it were based purely on recent all-around success I would think ULL should get first look...but that's just my opinion. IF it were to happen, which I don't want it to happen though, I'm fine with USA.

However, if it is...I wouldn't be surprised if C-USA added South Alabama. Man, would Southern Miss be pissed. LOL

Pardon me for my ignorance, but why would Southern Miss not be pleased with USA.

Don't think it can be done under NCAA guidelines now, unfortunately. I"m just hoping that they figure out a way to resolve this...

And as noted, the Sun Belt would naturally be concerned if UAB does lose out, because the SB would be the natural choice for a replacement school. (and I'd assume BB is already in discussions with the UAB leaders to determine what would have to be done.)

I do think the first choice would have to be Ark St., Ga Southern is too new to the D1 levels, and everyone else I believe steps on someone's current recruiting grounds.

We're fixing the 2nd rate facility issue.

50 million to fix the football stadium. Built a brand New Soccer complex, building a band new Tennis Complex. Remodeled the basketball arena, and are currently collecting the cash necessary to rebuild the baseball stadium and add Softball.

Goal is to be considered the top Non AQ program in the country. AD is confident we can hit that in the next 5-7 years provided money continues to come in like it is.

We'll never fix market...but we believe we can become what we need to become as part of the Sun Belt, so its not a major issue.

It can but it wouldn't really make sense. C-USA would be goofy to consider anyone to the east of USA. The west division needs a team starting next year. Hopefully that team is UAB.

The A10 fans have a thread going, too. Who knew UAB could cause so much discussion? http://www.basketballforum.com/atlantic-...ility.html

Why couldn't it. Both Texas Arlington and UALR are basketball only and Olympic sports in the Sun Belt and UMass right now is Football only in the MAC.

You can even play IAA football and have your basketball and Olympic sports in a higher conference just look at Richmond, Rhode Island, Villanova and well UConn used to be in the Yankee/A10/CAA and play basketball in the BE.

What you can't do is have your basketball and Olympic sports in IA and play DII/III football.

C-USA does not allow it right now but if they value UAB's other sports, they would change the rule in about 5 minutes.

Hey, can we hold off on renting out our room unless/until we get a terminal prognosis?

No schools with open enrollment for "learning disabilities" please.

Methinks UAB is here to stay. They will win the fight.

I wonder if those Slum Belt guys realize there is porn on the internet and they don't have to beat off to sports forums.

My personal opinion, but CUSA, if UAB drops, shouldn't add anyone, and live with 13 and maybe consider getting your numbers back to 12. You guys are losing money from the CFP payout every year you have more than 12 members

I'd kick Charlotte to the curb again if I were in that situation. 07-coffee3

I certainly hope UAB stays but if they left and we replaced them I would want New Mexico State for their basketball. May not be popular with UTEP. But hell they're playing them every year anyway.
