Dayton meets UConn tonight for a trip to the Final Four. Good luck to the Flyers. They're going to need it.

Central Michigan's Crystal Bradford is honorable mention All-American. Congratulations to her.

Crystal Bradford drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA draft.

Dayton's Ally Mallot drafted by the Washington Mystics.

Edit: they both went in the first round. Bradford was the 7th pick, Mallot the 8th pick.

Interesting: I heard from multiple sources that her hoops days were over due to injury. Good to see her get a chance at WNBA. Probably my favorite opponent player to watch ( not counting Elena Della Donna) although I hated that she seemed to always have big games against the Rockets. I think she deserved POY again but the injuries put an end to that. There wasn't a better player in the MAC.

Here's a link to a story on Central Michigan's site about Bradford being drafted. And a second player from Dayton was drafted last night. Andrea Hoover was drafted in the third round by Los Angeles.

When Bradford was ON her game, she may have been the best woman to ever play WBB in the MAC. However, all injuries aside, even when perfectly healthy her game definitely had an ON/OFF switch and when it was in the off position, her contribution could be very ordinary if not some times even detrimental to her team's effort.

In order to achieve her full potential (which I don't believe she did at CMU) she needs to find a way to operate more of the time with the switch turned ON and spend less court time with it in the off position. She has an immense talent but she still needs to learn how to optimize that talent every minute she is on the court. Hopefully she can learn to do that----it will require a mental attitude, not a physical adjustment-----if she can I think she may go on to become a great WNBA player.
