ASN Letdown
Though I got the UAB/La Tech game today over the air in the D.C. area the website where they are supposed to stream the games has said "upcoming" all day today. Very disappointing.

Cool that we have near national coverage OTA, but if they are going to claim to offer the stream they need to offer the stream. I have been impressed with the quality when its been up -- better than ESPN3's quality IMO, but nothing today. Affects planning. Hopefully, they get that worked out.

Upcoming probably doesn't mean a stream is upcoming, it means the game is. They have only streamed like 2 games that did't get what they consider to be sufficient affiliates. Don't expect regular streams on their website.

Pretty said that the Nashville market didn't get the game. Esp. when there are several Sinclair stations to choose from.

We got the dam ACC 11:30 game on the regular "ASN" station, like we do each week, even when MT played at 11 am on ASN.

I'm sure there are plenty of UAB and Marshall folks living in this area. Heck, I've seen some Marshall license plates around.

When I've seen an ASN game, the coverage wasn't bad. I thought last night's game between USM and Marshall, was fairly well presented for this network.

The problem isn't the video quality it is SERIOUS LACK OF PRODUCT AVAILABILITY. C-USA needs to retain the rights to broadcast ONLINE via All-Access so that it's fans at least have an option to view these games.

If you don't have an ASN station in your area or it is blacked out (in cities like Houston, Dallas,...) you are just hosed unless you are willing to drop your current provider for dish.

I liked the duo calling the game. What is Bill Hazen's background ? He reminds me of an old-school radio guy (Larry Munson-esque).

Was the other guy Donnan ?

Bill Hazen is buddies with the ASN founder guy. At least that's what he told us in Birmingham prior to the LA Tech game . . . . which was NOT available in Louisiana.
