No offense bronco83, but I just didn't like the vibe of a game thread that was started by someone who was banned. Particularly for a game that most of us are taking for granted.

I wish you a safe return.

Go Broncos!!!

When was the last time WMU ran a kickoff or punt back for a TD? I'm thinking we get one in 7 days.

I liked my game thread where we totally dismiss EMU and focus on the game after that 01-lauramac2

Actually it should. Be the "I despise bye weeks" game thread. I don't like bye weeks even durring bad years; but when we are rolling, a bye week it is like a perpetual prostate exam, less the lubricant, and without the doc even offering to by you dinner afterwords.

Oh, I never ask for lubricant. Takes the fun out of it. I like to skip the dinner and go right for dessert. You gotta find enthrawling entertainment somehow in a bye week, right? :)

Broncos are favored by 23 1/2 points. That's quite a spread. Wonder when the last time we've been favored by that much against an FBS team.

RE: the new & improved, good vibe Broncos v EMU game thread
I'd bet against the 23.5 spread. EMU's going to have confidence rolling in, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at us with nothing to lose, and smelling a win they could possibly get (in their own minds) because they beat us 3 times in a row. It's a big rivalry to them (not us so much).

I bet we win by 17-20. EMU keeps it 'too close' in the beginning because we're rusty after the bye. Only up by 7 at the half in a low-scoring affair, we turn it up in the 2nd half to push those EMoos away.

Technically they should be rusty as well.

I'm pretty confident we'll win, too, but EMU has been kryptonite to us these past few years. They looove being a thorn to us.

I'd be a bit nervous if we were playing in that cold desolate library in Ypsi, but I think we'll do fine at home.

Early forecast is mighty cold... Mid 30s and snow showers at kickoff. Probably won't be packin' them in at Waldo, or anywhere in the MAC for that matter.

I'd take the points... we should win by 4-5 TD's.

This has consistently been a no-excuses, fired up team. Come on. Hike up your skirts, we will cover. AS USUAL.

I'll be there. I hope it's not too miserable because I am a premadona. Hope to catch the hockey game Friday night too. My son and I are going to a college visit at WMU. Checking out the engineering school Friday. He and I are also going to the CMU game in mt pee. That will also be cold and miserable I am sure.

Cubit used to say that EMU was the hardest team to get up for, although I think he was referring more to the away games.

Kids have it penciled in their head for a win, and because there's no crowd when the games are at Ypsi it's hard to build up that energy that a player gets to shut the crowd down...........as it's perpetually shut down.

He compared it to playing a Spring Game. 03-zzz

I think we actually have a good chance to draw relatively well for mid-November. Good team still in the hunt for a league title, chance to lock up a bowl berth, an opponent we should beat - and no MSU (night game at Maryland) or U-M (bye week) to compete against. It will be cold, but I'd rather sit through snow showers then constant rain like the Toledo game.

Cold will keep some away, but I will optimistically predict over 16K (which, if it happens, would be a historically very good draw for mid-November).

Good point... although 16k is nothing to be content about, even for a chilly afternoon. Well, not unless you continually have a real low attendance where that'd be "swell" as a homecoming or something.

IMO, we need to hit around 20k in more wintery days, and around 25k in more sunnier/end-of-summer days as a *basic* standard. Thankfully, Fleck's all over the marketing and excitement on such things.

Darnell had about a 30pt. spread heading up to Mt. Pee, and we all know what happened......The beginning of the end for Darnell.
