Just a general question for the board.

The 8-0 one who hasn't beaten or played anyone good yet since you asked me :)

I have a different opinion. The team that lost to an FCS squad seems the most delusional.

Lmao - it is funny when you guys have been crying for respect all season long and the next thing you do is to give no respect to other team and think it is annoying :)

Honestly, I don't care if you respect Marshall. It makes no difference on the outcome of any of our past or future games. I fully comprehend we can lose at anytime, and I understand everyone has an opinion. Why would someone picking a team to beat you on an informal CUSA thread with no significance get you so flustered? I haven't cried for respect from anyone. I will point out the reality of our wins and circumstances, but crying about someone's opinion is extremely juvenile and pointless.

LaTech @ UAB-UAB will matchup better than we did but still see La Tech winning this one by 17

UTSA @ Rice; The Owls by at least 4 Td's

FIU @ Old Dominion; This one will be close but seeing ODU edge out FIU by 3 at home

UTEP @ Western Kentucky; our player have quit, injuries are taking its toll and its homecoming where WKU is about 0-5 last 5 seasons, how in the world we are 7 point favorites is beyond me-UTEP 45 WKU 35

FAU @ North Texas: FAU bounces back

Marshall @ Southern Mississippi; Marshall continue to roll by 4 Td's

Future Conference Mate
Coastal Carolina @ Charlotte; Coastal by 40, wonder if they still have that same coach who went crazy at a press conf.

That's easy...

And I thought I was tired of the Marshall chest thumping. Bring that back in a big way if this Tech nonsense is the alternative.

Actually I don't begrudge Marshall anything this year. It was the ECU BS mixed in I personally found galling. Thankfully that's over now. 03-wink

The cocky fan base of a 6 and 3 team by far....I gave them props for their defense and also mentioned how bad we played..Now its everyone says they played their worse game vs us, blah blah blah....La. Tech fans are not very good winners...Did not think this was possible, but their fans are turning into U-L-L Cajun fans quickly, must be something in the water in Louisiana...

I hope UAB beats them by 30 to bring them back down to earth a little....

A lot of smack talk for a team that got beat at home to NorthWest St.....

We're a proud bunch, and none of us will deny it. UL-L fans suffer from a special form of delusion, though. Beating the tar out of that school this year was especially satisfying.

And re: NSU. We took our lumps with that game and certainly got knocked down to earth. It still hurts, but there's no reason to let it temper our enthusiasm for a good season, which this one is certainly turning out to be.

When you are a fan of a non-BCS/Non-AQ/G5/Midmajor/etc. team, you squeeze every ounce of joy and smack-talk you can when the getting is good, because next year is rarely as kind.

FWIW, I can't wait for the day in which half of C-USA is 8-1 or 7-2 at this point, ranked, and ALL talking smack back and forth. That's when this is going to really get fun.

RE: Wk 11; Lines in the Sand
LaTech @ UAB - La Tech is the premier team in the west.
UTSA @ Rice - UTSA's defense is good but you can't fault them when the offense struggles to get first downs. They are exhausted by half
FIU @ Old Dominion - The fighting Heininke's lose close at home
UTEP @ Western Kentucky - UTEP is having a great season but I think WKU wins a close one at home
FAU @ North Texas - FAU fairly easily
Marshall @ Southern Mississippi - Marshall by a lot.

Tech fans should be given a pass for being cocky this year. We haven't seen a defense in a long time and don't know how to react. We were so bad last year that we had nothing but pessimism this year. Losing to NSU was a very short lived low point for this season.

The reason Tech fans are crowing is every blowout and win this year, the losing team doesn't credit Tech D but there own mistakes for the loss.

Techs D is scary good and when the O shows up it gets ugly.

That is what every fan says. It doesn't really need to be justified. Tech defense is 2nd in CUSA in total defense and 2nd in turnover margin. I would say that is a solid defense.

I'm not cocky. I am greatful for the good season we are having. It hope to win out but not expect anything. That "FCS" loss that everybody keeps throwing in our faces is a big reason we are playing so well. It has kept us focused.

some of you guys from the east division are hilarious when you said we are cocky. We weren't the one who said Tech is overrated and the west division is week in week out.

If it happens, I will let you know. That is the crux of the issue. It's not that you are a bad team, but you seem to feel you are far above any other school in this conference. For example, see the 8-0 not playing anybody comment which prompted my response. We are playing in the same conference as you. Like you, we also played an FCS school.

Thats not true at all. There are some "not all" Marshall fans that won't stop telling us how they are way better than everybody else. I don't consider us a great team, merely a work in progress. We Tech fans hear you guys shor sell us every week and when we win, you dismiss it and bring up the whole "FCS" loss. I want hard to root for you guys to get into an access bowl but you make it hard. Just stop telling me that we are overated and you are superior because you dropped 45 on some MAC team.
