Oooh the Agony!
Congratulations to the Auburn Tigers and their fans on their win tonight. As some of you may know, I have said for a long time that I thought Auburn was probably the best team in the nation. So there is no shame in Ole Miss' losing at home to Auburn. But the way the Rebels lost is just a kick in the groin.
Even after losing several offensive linemen to injury, Ole Miss had two drives inside the Tigers 15 in the last 3-4 minutes But the last one hurts the most, since Laquon Treadwell had made such a great play and was going in for the TD when the defender dragged him down at the goal line. Treadwell's ankle was obviously broken on the play and he fumbled the ball just before crossing the line and Auburn recovered.
Again, I think Auburn had the better team and deserved to win. It's just a gut punch to have come so close to a win and then to also lose your starting left tackle and top wide receiver.

While grateful for a hard fought win, I am truly sorry for Ole Miss's injuries. I wish both a full recovery. Ole Miss and Hugh Freeze both are a class act. I wish the Rebels well for the remainder of the season.

That was a truly a brutal way to both lose and win a game. I thought Auburn was classy with the subdued celebration and the prayer circle for Treadwell.
