How many southern teams have lost up north in conference play?
We've had two today, I'm wondering if there is a history of northern teams beating traveling southern teams in the cold.

Memphis got their bell rung up at UConn last year in the freezing cold. We were favored in that game but lost by 5 touchdowns.

Well that's three (to make it easy we should just keep it focused on the AAC era and Louisville would be considered north)

USF has suffered a few in Big East play. I remember our 2007 #2 when we lost back to back close games atRutgers and UConn

Yeah, but that game was actually cold. The games today were not cold and everybody plays in the rain.

I just got home from the Rutgers game 03-puke:. 42° and raining is cold. An hour after I left the game I'm still shivering.

No excuse. Both teams played on the field. One managed to hold on to the football and the other did not. That was the difference in the game.

I doubt SMU is looking forward to their December game in Connecticut.

RE: How many southern teams have lost up north in conference play?
It's usually not just the cold, but when you add in rain, wind, snow, sleet or a combination of them, then it gets bad for southern teams - just like what heat and humidity do to northern schools when they play in the south in August.

With the exception of UC's 2010 4-8 squad, USF usually gets drilled in Cincy.
Houston is here in December. I do think the weather impacted ECU. Both teams struggled on offense though.

RE: How many southern teams have lost up north in conference play?
I always thought Big teams struggled in the Rose Bowl when they played USC/UCLA partly due to weather,
which favors PAC teams.
