Personally, I've never understood why people leave early. You're there to watch football, stay till the end-

if you pay for the ticket, you can come and go as you please...I have no issue with old folks and folks with kids leaving early.

the students...terrible...just terrible...gone the second the homecoming awards were announced.

RE: ***Official Memphis vs Tulsa Game Thread***
I know some will complain about the tiger fanbase not showing up strong enough, but it seemed a decent crowd. That houston home loss certainly doesn't help attract more fans. The tigers will have to string some wins together to get the momentum back. It sucks, but it is what it is. One thing i will say though. I wish more than 1k people would have stayed until the clock reached 0:00 and celebrated the win with the team.

The game wasn't clean. The tigers didn't panic when down 14-3. The defense wasn't great, but they did what they had to do. Heard on the radio that tulsa converted on 8 of their 1st 10 3rd down plays. They were 0-10 after that. Overall, i think the team showed some grit tonight in getting the home win.

Someone said here before, and I wish I could remember who so I could give credit, but the student attendance has never been a factor in UofM numbers. They come and go, but it's the local fans we count on. We can always count on our 23k core fans. When the Tigers re-win over the casual fans again, our attendance will rock. Give it time. Baby steps...baby steps.

RE: ***Official Memphis vs Tulsa Game Thread***
TIGERS indeed didn't look good on offense; passing game was down a couple notches. Hayes made the major impact with his big breakaway runs, as well as Elliot regaining confidence and going 4/5 on FGs, including a 51 and 53 yarder in that wind.

Lynch got rushed a bit but also underthrew and overthrow some passes for stretches at a time. Not his best night, to be sure. Cold and windy didn't help, nor did the usual obligatory 3 or so drops. OL did get whipped a few times. Offense still scores 40 on a night they were out of sync. The hard truth is with a bit more focus on offense, MEMPHIS racks up 55 - 60 points.

Defense played MUCH better in second half; much more aggressive.

5-3 and it is damn sweet. On to Temple in the quest for # 6 and bowl eligibility.

I know. Nice win. I want to see the Tigers make it an all Memphis night. Great games from Zbo and Gasol

Yep

I also want my Predators to keep winning, but that's a Nashville thing.

Many Memphis people follow the Predators. Does Nashville follow the Grizz or do fans root against them? Just curious?

I didn't realize because hockey is not at the top of list for southerners.

The Grizzlies have a pretty good following especially during playoffs. A lot of people drive over to go to games.

People should stop crying. If you wife gets cold, you don't force her to stay, If the kids get cold and you make them stay it's called child abuse. I'm a loyal football fan and I stay till the end because I understand what the victory means to the football team and to me. Brandon Hayes has sacrificed to be apart of this winning team I respect that. A woman with cold feet or a bored kid could care less what you or I think about them leaving. My wife stayed at home because she was tired after work. My nephew took her place. You want to bash me because my wife stayed home? Give it a rest, people live in america and they can come and go as they please. Life and fans were not made to please the die-hard fan. We should make ourselves happy with our support of our team, Not force other people to do our will. We are not GOD. I'm a loyal fan and if I decide to leave at anytime during the game "I don't Care what you think or ESPN or the bowl committee, or the TV viewing audience. I'm Leaving. That is a non important complaint. That's my take on the issue.

Big time. His presence, leadership, and nose for the ball are huge.
