Wind chill factor will make it feel like 28 with gusts of wind clocking around 27mph at 10pm. Its no excuse not to be at a football game but we got a long way to go in turning fair weather fans into real fans come hot or cold

You better be careful calling some our fans fair weather fans. I got ripped for calling them that a few weeks ago. But we need to have a few more good years before we get the fair weather fans on board.

Shoot, we get ripped ever game. just gotta know the right beertender.

There will be plenty on Tiger Lane. Just go up to a tent and say, "Trick 'r treat, give me tickets."

As a fan, and knowing this board, I was a little timid to post the thread. I like many of others here have been a game goer for years. Just hope we do have a nice crowd..We even discussed at the teacher's table at lunch today why our school (high school) did not play Thursday instead of tonight. Not many teens will be there.

Just go and support the Tigers. They deserve.

Having to convince mom that little Susie and Johnny would have as much fun tailgating on Tiger Lane on Halloween (even with the activities planned), than going the traditional trick-or-treating and Halloween parties route will be a tough sell for most.

RE: Attendance factors
Another way to look at it...we are improving attendance wise...even if the raw the dance numbers are still disappointing.

Not too long ago...a game similar to last night would have garnered around 5,000 fans. Famously less on one occasion.

So, while it felt like around 15-18K actually in the stadium, that number, while disappointing for sure in the big picture, is promising in the immediate picture. Win these next two games especially and the expectations will be much higher for the home games with USF and UConn...and while it iOS highly unlikely we generate standing room only fans...35K and similar would be a vast improvement over the past several years.

Improvement matters. Yes, it helps if we have big fan numbers win or lose, but we will take it. Now...should this team become a perennial contender...big winner for half a decade, and we get current numbers, THAT would be a real downer.

We've had exactly one decent date and weather out of 4 home games this year, and we drew 47K. Last night was a terrible night for a football game- halloween, high school football, and cold windy weather.

Dictated by ESPN who will eventually turn college football into a 40 team semi-NFL (Vandy, Northwestern, etc. will hardly ever be on main ESPN network.) There is HUGE ratings difference between ESPN and the other ESPN networks.

RE: Attendance factors
Next home game Nov. 22, I'd like to see what kind of crowd we can get without having to deal with these weather factors. We've only had 1 home game with good weather and we had 46,000+.

Last night we were battling weather, Halloween, High School football, etc.

If our Tigers come back from the 2 game road trip bowl eligible with good weather, I would hope we would have another 46,000+ crowd. I would be very disappointed if we didn't have at least 40,000.

It was a Friday night, Eric Church was playing downtown, it was cold, and it was Halloween....

It's a decent crowd considered.
